Farage is doing his radio show and as usual Brexit is the only topic.
Then a call comes thru from a vet telling him how leaving the EU will leave a severe shortage of vets, and the knock on effect of this would also severely hamper farmers.
Farage admits he was unaware of this and also admits it would adversly effect farmersm

Interesting, with Brexit there are obvious big things about leaving, but there is a massive raft of unintended consequences, things that people on both sides had never considered. I doubt the impact on vets was a big consideration for most people. |

The best bit of it was when Farage was actually lost for words for about 10 seconds. He basically had his arse handed to him.

Farage is just showing himself up as the 1 trick pony he is. When confronted with fact, he's fucked, he quickly goes from buy British to buy cheap low standard Africa food |

Yes the link shows a pause of about 3 or 4 sec while he's obviously distracted listening to his producer through his headphones
Believe me, you won't run out of vets or insulin or sandwiches and you won't catch post Brexit gonorrhoea, neither will you require your army to deliver food and water to pensioners - just take a moment, pehsps 10 sec and reflect how ridiculous some of you sound |

Yes you are right, it was a bit of an exaggeration. He is not *totally* lost for words in that 10 seconds. He does manages the words ‘ummm’ and ‘yeah’ as he tried to think what to say. But to give him credit he does manage to save it in the end by suggesting we could buy lower quality African produce.

I’m not a vet. So I’ve no idea to be honest. But the woman calling in is a vet and was saying they are short on vets already. The British Vetinary Association estimates a 325% increase in exports requiring vetinary certification post Brexit. So it doesn’t sound like too much of an unreasonable scenario.
But that was the point of the caller. She was saying that despite them saying this it was just dismissed as scaremongering.

You've clearly run out of logic if this post is the best you can manage....of course we can just shake the magic vet tree and hundreds and thousands of them will fall to the ground. |

I wouldn’t say he was obviously distracted. Your putting your own view in this.
And I’ve never said anything about running out of stuff so please don’t strawman me. I was purely pointing out he didn’t speak for 8 seconds (other than a stumble) in response to your post which called out someone else. |

Already a significant lack of vets. In Ireland i think we have one universitiy offering this course and hence a lot of our vets train in Europe as there are more places available and at a cheaper rate |
