No, he has come out and announced something big to try and cover up the last big gaff he made. He's come out spouting nonsense about selling soy beans and LNG to the EU. The EU said it will buy LNG *in the future* once it has built the ports and infrastructure that doesn't yet exist. And the soy beans thing was to try and appease his soy bean farmers, that due to him waving his dick at the Chinese has resulted in 116 bankruptcy filings in the past quarter by farmers. There is already zero tariffs on EU importing soy beans from the US and we already import a load of them. But there is no way we would want even a tenth of the amount that China imported from them. But hey... I'm sure we could have a word with Weatherspoons and get them to come up with a nice cocktail that uses soy beans and British sparking wine. -Matt | |||

The point is that Trump has claimed that he has done a deal and has offered the EU, whom he was calling a foe the same "deal" that Leavers are counting on as a great prize. It's meaningless. The EU does not buy soybeans or gas. Individual states and countries do. Our biggest soybean supplier was Brazil who is now exporting to China. We were always going to shift supplier under those circumstances. Gas from the US? Why not, although they are no more a reliable ally now than Russia is. Business men do not want Brexit. The deal they would do would be one that looked like the EEA which a crappier version of what we have. They don't believe in jam tomorrow because it never comes. | |||

Pretty sure the ECJ won't be having oversight over American law courts either. "There will be an independent arbitrating body for resolving disputes which is what the ECJ does. It will cost a lot of money and we will have to abide buy its rulings. The difference is the ECJ is transparent. We know it's cost and what the judgements are. Arbitration is not under most trade deals. That would be a win then
