Seeing as Trump took to getting about London by helicopter in order to avoid protesters, I'd say that's a win for the protestors.

US head of states meets UK head of state.

Pomp and ceremony.

Just what he wants his fan club back home to see.

Without those protests, the coverage is 100 per cent arse-licking from Windsor Castle.

With the protests, it's maybe 60 per cent arse-licking and 40 per cent arse-kicking.

So it does have an effect.

Yep, saw the coverage of the anti Trump protests on the news channels and thought it was pretty pathetic really. Brain dead zombies shuffling through the streets of London, it's a wonder they have the intelligence to put one foot in front of the other. Fucking morons each and every one of them. Still the news footage was good for a laugh though.

On a less confrontational note than I usually would chose to post up, it’s actually fascinating how we have the same access to information, yet we come up with such radically opposing view points. I genuinely can’t understand why people such as your good self ridicule those of us whom care for our fellow humans regardless of ethnicity, sex, nationality etc. And I am sure you’re equally bemused why we would wish for a fairer society instead of supporting Trump/Brexit etc.

For the record I absolutely believe in the right of everyone to voice their opinion to any degree.

I think people will look back on this era and look at we have such strongly divided opinion.

It would feel the cost the police the march will cost the most. Many of the protesters had they own agenda. Representing unions, feminist moments, etc. One elderly women stating "when I was photo's of children in cages that did it for me."

However if she did a bit research she would find photo's of the cages/cells to detain people were actually from the Obama as well taken in 2014.

What a load of Bullshit, you think it costs more to police a peaceful protest than to secure airports, military bases, country houses, golf courses, hotels, castles, miles of road, airspace etc etc with armed police, military etc. You have obviously let your hatred of peaceful protesters cloud your judgement.

Its strange when someone challenges an opinion that person is demonised into being a hater.

"The most honest statement was from a man interviewed during the march. He said quote " its the British taxs payers that will fork out the millions it will cost for the march to be held. Khan complains he has no money to police the streets, fire brigade can't save people in a burning tower because they are underfunded. But the morons with nothing better to do can march through the street of london

You have to be trolling, no one is genuinely this ignorant?

Trolling??, ignorant??

Please explain.

Its got to be trolling, I have never seen someone misspell “tax” before.

Does it make you feel intellectually superior to bully someone over a small error in their post? You and your friend Demijohn have to be the most joyless, empty-soulled people I've ever come across on an internet forum. "

The abusive shit being hurled at demonstrators is staggering, in this thread and others.

Each and every one of us has a right to protest. The police have a duty to facilitate it.

People who dislike the policies or behaviour of Donald Trump took the opportunity presented by his visit to make a protest.

Agree or disagree, that is their right.

Do the people hurling abuse at the people on the street also hurl abuse at people on here who hold opinions they disagree with?

If not, why not?

There are always protests, just because you are ignorant of them, that doesn't mean they are not happening. "

As always, please who try and diminish a protest by wondering "where was the protest for this other, unrelated thing" are dishonest shits.

And, of course, if you are someone who has protested repeatedly, then the criticism is that you're always protesting, so therefore you're just some crank - and that's how they'll try and use that to diminish the protest.

You can't actually be a legitimate protester, because these mouth breathers are cowards who despise anyone who doesn't share their cowardice.

Everybody’s got the right to protest, it’s their prerogative to dislike Trump as is other people’s to support him. Providing the protests don’t get violent and cause damage etc I don’t see the problem. I just cant understand what they were hoping to achieve, do they think Donald will change his ways because a few thousand people came out dressed in costume carrying placards telling him what a bad man he is ??I don’t think Trump would be too bothered about them, I’m sure he’s had worse in his life.

Have you not paid any attention to the guy? He is male fragility writ large.

Of course he cares, one of the many ways he is comically unfit for office is he is unable to deal with anything less than adoration.

And even if you were right, that doesn't mean people shouldn't have protested. They're as much an expression of what the protesters believe in as a condemnation of the protested.

That shouldn't be shelved just because it probably won't provoke a road to Damascus moment in self confessed serial sexual assualter Donald J Trump.

I think you’ve missed the point of the protests. They are not so much to get Trump to change his ways, just more a way to show the people who vote for him how much he is despised. He holds a rally in the US and says “The people of the U.K. love me! So you should vote for me”. And they vote for him. Because they lack any ability to do any critical thinking of their own. With these protests they are a chance to try and show the people who vote for him that in fact the rest of the world DOESN’T universally love him as he claims. So they might start to question some of his other claims. And there is a chance they might start to realise how much they have been gaslit by him. Of course, he will still have Fox News crowing about how wonderfully his trip went. They are currently reporting on the “Rowdy protests” that have been going on here. But anything that can be done to crack through those rose tinted views of him is worth a shot.

None of them will ever achieve what Trump had achieved in life. I prefer to ignore protesters and listen to the silent majority .

But if I ever end up in a position where that seems like a good idea, I'll be sure to pull myself out of whatever stupor I'll be in, look this exchange up and pretend to give a fuck then.

How does that work for you?

Your anger is making you a bit incoherent"

That'll be your limited vocabulary at work.

"Also, how the fuck can you listen to a silent group.

They're silent.

It's right fucking there in the name.

You resort to swearing very easily - you obviously have anger issues.

Obviously.

Have you ever thought of getting help? Montreal, I'm sure, has some great counsellors. Or you could buy a balloon and wave it about a bit?

He's past helping!Surprised he hasn't got repetitive strain disorder the amout of time he spends on that keyboard! lol

Maybe you two could form a consulting agency?

You can go around and give your opinions on how people ought to behave that's neither relevant or wanted.

Do you want to be our first patient, I'm sure you would enjoy the attention? We could do it for free as you appear to be a charity case!

I'd rather you try really fucking hard and say something with some actual substance for once."

Concrete is that substantial enough for you, alas there's no need to try hard with you!

Well, English isn't my first language but well done to you for making the bigoted assumption that it is. Your true colours certainly shine through when you're doing your utmost to be offensive. I'll leave you to take some nice deep breaths, and perhaps a nice cup of chamomile tea whilst you think up some other pithy but pointless retorts.

I mean he's quite well known for quick and clever remarks, and specifically he did a far better version of your gag, after being asked for a quick word.

But as you've a proclivity for pretending you've got deep insights into people you have never met, I'm certain you think you're a fucking authority based on one meeting.

Well, specifically for this thread, both of you have never tried to engage with what is being said, just how it is being said, and by who.

Small minds talk about people and all that...

If you'd anything of interest to say, you'd have led with that. But you don't so that pretty much justifies why I treat you both as I do.

Don't worry though, you've earned it.

"Also, Gordon Strachan did that joke much better.

Funnily enough I met Gordon when he was manager of coventry city, he didn't seem the type to tell many jokes.

Its not the first thing you've been wrong about today, certainly not the last.

Have you met him or are you just guessing!?

Of course he hasn't met him, a bit of a Walter Mitty our Demijohn. Also, he doesn't like it when you question his expertise. Just click the green arrow next to his profile name and you can view all the other subjects he's an expert on He makes me laugh though, and laughter is just great

The old "laugh and smile when you don't understand what is being said" trick, eh?

Wow, you really are arrogantly clueless, aren't you?

Well, you're half right. I'm certainly arrogant.

And justifiably so.

And your justification is............? Go, on - do your best

Well, specifically for this thread, both of you have never tried to engage with what is being said, just how it is being said, and by who.

Small minds talk about people and all that...

If you'd anything of interest to say, you'd have led with that. But you don't so that pretty much justifies why I treat you both as I do.

Don't worry though, you've earned it."

No, you need to look up what "arrogance" and "justification" mean. Your posts are usually full of spelling and grammatical mistakes, and display very little knowledge of the topic. Your "arrogance" is therefore unfounded.

"Everybody’s got the right to protest, it’s their prerogative to dislike Trump as is other people’s to support him.

-Matt"

Hahahahahahahaha, just how deluded are you? A chance for the rest of the world to show Americans that Trump isn't liked? It's been reported now (not just on Fox, but on sky news, BBC and other news media) that the London protests didn't even attract half of the number that was expected. It was a pathetic turn out. Some news media are also reporting some protestors thought the Trump Baby blimp was also pathetic. The whole protest has been pathetic all round.

Seems you're now having difficulty in reading posts. Try reading it again, it's been reported on the news that the protests didn't attract the numbers that were expected. In fact less than half than what was expected.

I'm seeing 100,000 for London and 60,000 for Edinburgh on the beeb.

Seems respectable numbers to me, but perhaps you have a *unique* take on them.

Or, and this is more likely, you were going to stamp your foot and yell about it being "pathetic" no matter what happened, so why even pretend that you're making a case here?

Don’t forget this is a chap who calls 52% a ‘landslide’ and keeps reporting when Trump’s one favourite poll shows him as nearly being popular.

Numbers are not his strong point.

You would cry if you kids stood up for something they believed in? What an awful parent you must be. why because I’d rather kids be kids live a bit before they get bogged down with debt and responsibility’s it’s summer I want mine to be out enjoying them selves let kids be kids and leave the daily moaning to you after all your bloody good at it "

Well I went to the anti Trump march yesterday. Thankfully we won paid annual leave a few years ago so I booked the day off to go.

The march was vibrant, diverse and positive in pushing progressive values and whether it was 100, 000 or 250,000 it was one of the biggest I have ever been on.

Was it worth it? When is it not worth standing up for Respect, Equality and decent human values?

"I think that we can safely ignore the anti trump demonstrators. At least Trump was elected as president of the USA , the protesters are just loud mouthed individuals with nothing else better to do. None of them will ever achieve what Trump had achieved in life. I prefer to ignore protesters and listen to the silent majority .

These protesters could not care less about democracy or peoples rights.

How many of them have criticised dictators from Asia , Africa or Latin America . ? "

Quite a feat being able to hear those who are silent.....

When DemonJohn won't even recognise what is being reported on the news then you know it's just utterly pointless engaging in any kind of debate with him. Most people in London didn't even see the Trump blimp as it was restricted by laws for how high they could fly it. Yep, the protest turn out was weak, utterly pointless and again Pathetic.
