Instead, David Davis smirks through meeting after meeting, Boris Johnson gabbily chases cheap headlines, Michael Gove spins a wordy web of courteous waffle and Liam Fox insists that black is white and white black. Mr Davis said this week that Mrs May’s ideas would not work. So, what might work instead? There was, predictably, no answer from Mr Davis. There never is. The Brexiters created the mess and the burden with which Mrs May has to wrestle. But it is never, ever, their fault. Nothing ever is. I really do wonder about you sometimes. Considering the current party in government can't decide themselves what Brexit they want, how do you think it is going to be successful. Yes, it sometimes seems like the opposition party has fallen asleep at the wheel, but to be honest, they aren't exactly needed at the moment as the Tory party has it's own built in opposition party to everything it tries to do at the moment. -Matt | |||

There's no one else right now who'll put themselves forward as a leader, knowing that being PM at this point is political suicide. As for March, it's not just ERG that'll kick her out. They won't have the numbers (exclusively) then, same as they don't now. The party in general will kick her out because she'd have served her purpose as a punching bag. | |||

The numbers will still be the same in March as they are now." the issue this time round centy is that someone is going to ask the relevent question "why should only the conservative party and their members get to choose in effect the prime minister and the direction of brexit.... and not all of us!" which is why JRM and his ERG buddies need May in place to in effect to their dirty work for them... and to shield them if/when it goes all tits up as they will point the finger at her! if she goes... there will be a general election... whether she calls their bluff and calls it on her way out the door, or if parliament calls a no confidence motion... because it would be rich of them to do it in private of the 1922 committee, but not in public | |||
