Saw something on the bbc news website this morning and it was in Ireland where they were showing the so called new IRA marching in protest.

They looked like something thrown back from the 70’s with thier battle dress and songlasses all topped of with little berets

I was wondering just what they thought they looked like

Falkirk

A show of force I suppose.

Going backwards not forwards which just goes to show the civil unrest is still rife in Northern Ireland.

Not seen it, but let me guess...

Yep all dressed the same in step and looking disciplined. So hilarious to see the beginnings of the return to 'troubles'. No doubt when the same 'clowns' start rioting in NI, shooting the military deployed to attempt to keep the peace and bombing the mainland you will still be rolling on the floor laughing, or maybe not. What do you think?

Not a welcome sight.

Maybe they're marching to demonstrate against Brexit and a possible hard border which will affect their cross-Border drug-trafficking, fuel scams and money-laundering operations?

Have there been any violence committed by remainers? The only incident was Jo Cox's murder which was by a leaver. There have been numerous racist actions but no one knows their allegiances.

"Even with the so called good Friday agreement how many people have been murdered by them since ?

"

I don't know, how about you tell me. Maybe at the same time you can compare the NI murder rate to that of the rest of the UK for the last 20 years. Then just so that we all get a complete picture of the effectiveness of what you sneeringly refer to as the 'so called Good Friday Agreement' you may like to contrast the last 20 years figures with those of the previous 20 years? Maybe you could pay a little attention to the number of Armed Forces personnel who have been required to aid the civil authorities during both periods, the number killed in anti-insurgency operations in NI and of course you should not forget those civilians killed in the rest of Ireland and on mainland UK during both periods as a direct result of that insurgency and its counter.

You may not like the Good Friday Agreement, many didn't at the time and probably still don't, but I think only a fool would wish to return to what we had before the Good Friday Agreement.

Unfortunately it seems to me that Briton is full of brexit fools. I have even heard one say he would rather the country (including himself and his family) starve than have a soft brexit where the Good Friday Agreement did not need to be broken. And funnily enough I actually think that is the attitude of many.

Of course the truth is the vast majority of brexiteers think that no matter how bad it gets it will be others who pay the price.

You forgot to mention that Brexit could also affect their cross border smuggling of weapons and explosives, which at the moment they are able to carry on with relatively unhindered.

Having been on the receiving end of IRA terrorism I do hope it doesn't come back to haunt us! However, when you have dickhead politicians, who have no idea what it was like, making policy, it will lead to disaster. I remember only too well the 3 warnings we had to give an IRA gunman - the politician who thought that one up was obviously never going to be in a position to implement it!

Yep, I voted leave.

AND

I continually say I did so because in my opinion, we, the UK have a cancerous political growth that was infecting the rest of the EU and therefore we need to leave and deal with our problems before we can rejoin as a full member, not the special member with opt outs. Now we are seeing exactly how serious the cancer is and rather than excising it we are now demanding that we be allowed to continue to infect the EU by being the special non member with opt ins.

To be honest the sooner the EU stops appeasing us and tells us to sling our hook the better. Then we will all have to face the realities that outside the EU we are a little island that makes very little, cant feed itself and relies on providing corrupt banking and financial services where market rigging and skimming off the top are the order of the day, and sells itself as the back door into the largest single market in the world.

A town near you

Prior to brexit being invented or any other word, these guys have always been here, marching there, marching here. They didnt just reform because of brexit. All through the peace process and subsequent years members have still trained and marched and attracted new members. Im still uncertain though how brexit will be for them as they make a lot of dough smuggling things back and forth across the border, washed agri diesel being their biggest product and also our biggest border environmental issue
