Corrupt BBC working against Scotland

The Council of Elrond

BBC Scotland’s flagship news programme Reporting Scotland

On the programme presenter Sally Magnusson told viewers “… the First Minister said Brexit would be hugely damaging and that those who supported it would never be forgiven"

This is what Nicola Sturgeon actually said in FMQs

"“The interests of, not just Scotland, but the whole of the UK are going to be deeply damaged, and that will be the Tory legacy to Scotland and to the rest of the UK and I think future generations will never, ever forgive them for it"

Now i know you lot will defend the BBC and think its fine to report lies to people

No doubt you will say oh its all ok and the just made a wee mistake

They make alot of mistakes then why keep defending them ?

"Sounds like a fairly straight summary of what was said. What is the issue? "

Which part ?

1. The part where Sally Magnusson told viewers “… the First Minister said Brexit would be hugely damaging and that those who supported it would never be forgiven

Or

2. Where Nicola Sturgeon said “The interests of, not just Scotland, but the whole of the UK are going to be deeply damaged, and that will be the Tory legacy to Scotland and to the rest of the UK and I think future generations will never, ever forgive them for it

Which one do you believe is the actual truth ?

Essentially they are the same, the word Tory is missing yes but would think most sensible people would know whom is being spoken about..

it is not a lie, it is the same thing ..

a lie, well use a search engine perhaps as you have got that wrong..

what is the point in posting if another viewpoint which YOU ASKED FOR is then responded to with that bollocks..?

Hiw about these lies from the BBC i suppose they are now lying to people here

1.This week witnessed Reporting Scotland’s most senior presenter Jackie Bird claim the Scottish government had “intervened" in the case of Professor Clara Ponsati, the former Catalan Govt Minister who is facing possible extradition to Spain

Strange as First Minister and her government had explicitly made clear they could not intervene in the case

2. BBC Reporting Scotland claimed the First Minister had criticised HGV drivers after vehicles became stranded on motorways

Strange as First Minister Made very clear goes she isn’t criticising drivers

Also BBC Scotland was eventually forced to apologise and admit it had misquoted Nicola Sturgeon

I suppose its ok for the BBC to outright lie about those two things above eh ?

Corrupt scum!!!

I've asked you to clarify your OP, you have dodged it, the only conclusion I can draw from that is that it's you who doesn't actually have a clue.

But then, why am I not surprised, you regularly post stuff in here, get challenged, and use diversion tactics to try and steer away from answering questions.

So, I'm just going to make it simple, so even you can understand it.

EITHER... you explain to me where the lies are in your OP.

OR... you refuse, or attempt to divert again, which I (and everyone else) will take as an admission that you were wrong.

Your choice.

But that has nothing to do with your OP, which was about the newsreader and Sturgeon, and Brexit.

So, back to my question, where were the lies in what your OP quoted from both sides?

No no try answering that do you believe the BBC are outright lying above ?

No.

Your OP claimed the BBC newsreader lied about what Sturgeon said, when she didn't, as far as I can see, so YOU need to point out, from YOUR OP, where the lies are, YOU started the thread with a statement about lying, please explain what the lies were?

No ? Oh well come back when your ready to answer eh

I see your still not ready to answer i will wait thanks lol

"OR... you refuse, or attempt to divert again, which I (and everyone else) will take as an admission that you were wrong."

So, finally, although he wont actually say it, he admits he is wrong.

What the fuck ? Putting words in my mouth tut tut

Maybe I'm just being thick, but isn't what the newsreader said just a shortened version of what Sturgeon said, I cant see what "lies" were being told?"

So, you should answer my question.

However, I also gave you a choice, and you took it, by refusing to answer you clearly chose to admit you were wrong.

I have no idea if it's lies as I couldn't find any text detailling Nicola's comments, but my point was more that numerous news outlets were reporting the same thing, I assume they all misquote Nicola? But if blame doesn't lie with the HGV drivers and hauliers for ignoring the red warning then I guess blame lies with the Scottish Government for not treating the roads adequately in time for the bad weather?

Basically, if you don't pay your license fee then you've really got no right to criticise it's output. No matter where you watch the content.

And can I perhaps recommend going back to school and doing your English Language Comprehension again. As the reported precis of what the FM said was correct in all respects.

Having read the BBC report on Nicola's comments on the M80 I'd have said she made some good points, it sounded like she was looking out for the wellbeing of employees of Hauliers, and asking them not to pressurise staff coming into work in unsafe conditions, how is this a bad thing?

1.This week witnessed Reporting Scotland’s most senior presenter Jackie Bird claim the Scottish government had “intervened" in the case of Professor Clara Ponsati, the former Catalan Govt Minister who is facing possible extradition to Spain

Strange as First Minister and her government had explicitly made clear they could not intervene in the case

2. BBC Reporting Scotland claimed the First Minister had criticised HGV drivers after vehicles became stranded on motorways

Strange as First Minister Made very clear she isn’t criticising drivers"

But I've posted twice about "lie number 2, and you've ignored it, BBC certainly weren't alone in saying NS criticised HGV Drivers and Hauliers, so are they all lying? If these drivers weren't to blame does that mean the Scottish Government were for not treating the roads adequately in time for the bad weather? For the record I think that the BBC report showed Nicola as quite caring, is this not the case?

I gave you a choice, explain what the lies were in your OP, or, if you refused or re-directed, I would take that as you admitting you were wrong.

You refused to answer, thereby by default admitting you were wrong, its all up there in the thread, and a matter of permanent record lol.

So ot wasnt brexit voters she was aimming that at but infact the facts

But no you will find people on here think its ok for the BBC to lie to people that watch the news

Breaching their charter

But then again alot of people are now not funding the BBC and they are losing money hahahaha serves them right lying and covering up nasty shit

"BBC Scotland’s flagship news programme Reporting Scotland

"

Here we go again even Sturgeon is less neurotic than you,do you not get bored churning out this stuff on a thread ,that is not only about Scotland?

Unlike most people I have just watched your video links. I have to say they are the single most one sided opinionated bullocks it has ever been my misfortune to waste time watching.

An absurd collection of self centred "we're perfect and everyone hates us" gibbering nonsense that would only appeal to the most simple minded one dimensional idiots.

Based on this, I can now offer any video by Britain First as proof that we're the best. Or maybe I can use EDL stuff to show why England is great.

I wouldn't of course because they are dickheads broadcasting dumb propaganda but so is the kinky video library. I heartily recommend watching them so you can laugh at the single digit IQ imbeciles that star in them!

Don't ever dare offer those as actual evidence, you'd be laughed out of court!!

"Ok fine the BBC are making out like Nicola is only saying brexit voters Brexit would never be forgiven"

Are they? Unfortunately the only available clip is edited down to just that one sentence. I found the indyref2 website (which, from my limited search, is I think where you found this story) which for some reason only presents that one clip, with none of the context around it.

I also note that the same article acknowledges that the later broadcast (which, from my limited understanding of how it works, would have had more time to work on the copy) presented a more accurate view. Although, the author of the indyref2 article seems highly suspicious of the change, to the extent that he sees it as another attempt to mislead.

It is interesting that an article so concerned with editirial transparency is unwilling to let the readers see all of both broadcasts in full so that they can judge for themselves.

All part of a grand conspiracy to bash Scotland, eh?

Jeeze, get a life.

The media serves you a dose of headlines - it doesn't do detail.

OK, so there's a little change of emphasis in a report.

Show me any media that doesn't do that, either accidentally or deliberately.

The world ain't perfect.

And you ain't gonna cure it with petty sideswipes at journalists who are just doing their job.

Some of the nationalist tendency really need to grow up and join the real world.

I did that for a living.

I still do.

The reason Scotland voted to remain part of the union isn't because of some unionist conspiracy with the media to suppress the truth - it's because the petty and vindictive grievance culture that stalks part of the national cause turns people off.

"Kinky, I don’t trust a lot of news on the BBC.

However, I cannot see a lie in the OP. Can you explain it to me? Imagine I’m not as bright as the eight year olds you know.

You will be helping me explain to others why I don’t trust a lot of the news on the BBC.

If you cant see the lie thats upto you i beg to differ but see if you read further down say on these 2 do you think those are lies?

1.This week witnessed Reporting Scotland’s most senior presenter Jackie Bird claim the Scottish government had “intervened" in the case of Professor Clara Ponsati, the former Catalan Govt Minister who is facing possible extradition to Spain

Strange as First Minister and her government had explicitly made clear they could not intervene in the case

2. BBC Reporting Scotland claimed the First Minister had criticised HGV drivers after vehicles became stranded on motorways

Strange as First Minister Made very clear she isn’t criticising drivers

They did try to intervene! !!

Fiona Hyslop wrote to the Spanish government and the Ambassador to the UK has a reply freely available online.

No they didnt stop lying!!!

The Scottish government cannot intervene in the case fucking hell

Did you forget its a UK reserved matter duh!!!!!!

So if Fiona hyslop was not attempting to interving why was she writing to the Spanish government but remember the reply from the Spanish ambassador is on line.

You refused to answer the question, you were silent.

""Silence gives consent." So runs an ancient maxim of common law, and from that maxim flows a widely applied legal principle: the rule of tacit admission. On the theory that an innocent man would loudly deny a serious charge, the rule holds that a suspect silent in the face of an accusation has tacitly admitted the crime. And such silence can later be introduced at his trial as an indicator of guilt."

"Maybe I'm just being thick, but isn't what the newsreader said just a shortened version of what Sturgeon said, I cant see what "lies" were being told?"

The BBC version infers every Leave voter would be vilified for ever, rather than the Tories. So to be fair, it IS misleading since what is quoted is not what was said. Either that's very poor journalism, or a bias that should not be there.

Leaving the Scottish issue out of if, do you want your national paid-for news channel to misreporting? If it's about something you have knowledge about, you can inform yourself but if it's about something outwith that, you could be being lead somewhere you as a country would not want to go.

Anything I've ever had inside information about, being reported either on the news or newspaper medium, has invariably had mistakes or bias or is simply wrong and that worries me- are ALL reports wrong, to a degree?

Did Fiona Hysslop 'intervene' with her letter to the Spanish ambassador (think it was)? Doesn't read like that and says the MSPs have no power to intervene but does say they are sorry both that this could not be sorted by dialogue and that the Scottish legal system was to be involved.

As they say, it's a court matter but it'd be failing in their remit, I'd think, not to have some sort of response to this, especially as the Spanish leader interfered with the Scottish referendum (probably fearing recent events in Spain).

Why vilify Tories like Anna Soubry who are working to try and stop Brexit, and give a free pass to people like Nigel Farage just because their rosette is purple rather than blue?
