surely your water companies should be re-investing in infrastructure rather than turning a profit for share holders
as for calamity in Scotland, its surprising Londoners actually know where Scotland is! just a point on a weather map for them.

What you could have written is:
"I have learned [from some unspecified source] that London is running low on water.
Is this a threat to the city despite it wealth? Is there a solution and should a solution include state subsidy?"
The answer is for the water companies to stop the 20% of leaks. No profit or dividends until basic service standards are reached. The same for all utilities and the trains. |

Is your life so sad that you think it OK to mock others plight, regardless of where they are?
Surely you could drive to a dairy farm and laugh at the farmers who are having to dump milk, or mock some of your local nurses and others who worked extra shifts to cover staff shortages..?

I'm in Birmingham and have had no water for a few days now.
I am not sure that a nationalised company or a private one can be held entirely responsible for the thaw which has led to the leaks.
I know people who work for our local company Severn Trent who have worked tirelessly all day and in some circumstances until 3am to try and fix the problem.
Severn Trent and its army of volunteers have also been stood out in the cold from 8am until 10pm distributing bottled water. They are again today.
We are being encouraged to keep an eye out for older people and the vulnerable. I fetched water for a neighbour who has limited mobility. This warms my heart.
In a world where people die everyday from lack of or unclean water I am sure I can cope for a few days without it. Its a nuisance rather than a disaster.
