"He has to be one of the most disingenuous British politicians ever.
One of the most popular too. 3 back to back elections with massive majorities "
Is he quite so popular now though, now his Iraq war and massive PFI debts, have been exposed? |

Possibly but it also gives light to the fact that some of our electorate care little for informing themselves before putting their cross in the box..
Brexit looks to have had similar..

"as prime minister was his role in bringing an end to decades of conflict in Northern Ireland etc etc"
That process started in 1994, long before Blair.
The 1994 PIRA ceasefire allowed John Major and Bill Clinton to send in George Mitchell, from where the GFA came from. |

In 1995, the two governments published the Joint Framework document. Yet, following
apparent intransigence and unwillingness to negotiate by the Major-led Conservative British
government, the IRA resumed the conflict in 1996 after a 17-month ceasefire. After
considerable pressure from US President Bill Clinton to advance the peace process, the Blairled
Labour government, elected in 1997, adopted a much more open policy that allowed the
paramilitaries to have a place at the negotiating table |

"Blair is at the top of my list for most unsavoury politicians ever. I actually abhor the man and his legacy."
I don't see many people calling to scrap his legacy. You want to scrap devolution? Scrap peace in NI? Scrap the minimum wage? Scrap tax credits? Scrap pension credit?
No, I'm quite happy with his legacy thanks |

Blair was the Prime minister, so he was the one who had access to the intelligence. The Chilcot inquiry exposed that Blair knew the intelligence was questionable and dodgy, yet Blair sexed up the intelligence to Parliament and the general public. Blair misled Parliament and the general public. |

You will note that I did not disagree with you on the point about Iraq, having been opposed to it and on the march in London my views on that aspect of his tenure are publicly known on here..
You missed once again the point made that your lot voted on what they were spoon fed by him in parliament and did not question the dodgy dossier unlike many others..

"may be there is just to many people in our small country ....doing f all x"
What do you suggest then? Mandated sterilisation? Forced labour camps?
Maybe... just maybe... there isn't too many people in our small country... maybe it is due to lack of funding, lack of training for new staff, and people like Hunt pissing everyone off so they leave. Just a thought.

Yes i remember how it was under the Blair/Brown years. Patients being rushed though A and E and not being given a proper duty of care all in the name of meeting Labour imposed 'targets' and patients on wards needing a drink so bad they resorted to drinking water from dirty flower vases at Stafford hospital. If that's Labour's vision of how the NHS should be frankly you can keep it! |

Yep your right.
urm what happens now..oh yes chances are you die while waiting for treatment in some hospital corridor
because of a shortage of doctors and nurses!! |

"Our maybe you have parkinsons and half to wait almost a year between appointments!"
Rather that than being rushed through the system, not being assessed properly, not being diagnosed properly, not being treated properly or not being operated on properly to meet some half baked Labour imposed performance target. |

I think we often forget that this is a website for people who are looking for sexual adventures.
There are many political forums online where the level of debate is informed and erudite such as "politicsforum" "studentroom" or "debatepolitics".
I certainly wouldn't go to those sites looking for swingers, so why would anyone want to engage in any sort of political discussion on this site?
You can see that every time, whatever the topic, the exchanges become insulting, banal and mindless.
Stick to what you know - which is shagging!
Go elsewhere for the brainy stuff.

Tell me what the difference is in meaning between "Tony Blair -Liar" and "Tony Blair is absolutely a liar" please?
Do you actually have a contribution relating to the subject in hand?
As for your point about specific politics forums - I've posted on those in my time (although neither of the ones that you mention). I don't see how it stops politics being relevant here, even in the most banal "shagging" forum.
The personal is political, after all. |

Wrong again. You really aren't very good at this are you? Throughout the period of New Labour - 1996 - 2010, all candidates in general elections, local elections and Euro elections stood as candidates for the Labour Party. This included all more left wing members of the party including Jeremy Cornyn, Tony Benn and Dennis Skinner. The name came from;
New Labour, New Life For Britain - the political manifesto published in 1996 by the Labour Party which rebranded itself as New Labour under Tony Blair. The manifesto set out the party's new "Third Way" centrist approach to policy. Same party, just a different approach to policy, campaigning and presentation...with astonishingly successful results. |

Yes, and the "third way" approach abandoned the Labour movement, ergo they were not a "Labour" Party. Some socialist candidates does not a Labour Party make.
New Labour were a centrist, capitalist party. |
