Exactly, whatever happens in the next year or so. We will be back in within 20 years.

But I'm not sure what the original question was. Should we have a 2nd, or what would you vote in a 2nd?

We should have one, and I will remain a remainer.

Why stop at a 2nd we can keep going until the country is split beyond repair do you think the leave voters would be happy if it went the remainers way best out of 3 maybe 5 we've ad a vote live with it

We have international respect ?

It's pointless having referenda to replace other results. If remain win as stated leave won't accept it and vice versa.

The problem is that many people are just not informed enough to make a rational decision. We have blamed the EU for everything which happened to go wrong - when it was probably our own governments fault! People will just have to let the process continue and see what happens. If it goes well great. If it doesn't then we need a plan B. The problem is Brexit was sold as an easy option and it isn't. The questions we should be asking is how long do we give it a chance to work? Some may not agree but maybe 5yrs, 10yrs - this is what we need to know. How long before we see success - some leavers think it's going to be instant well they may be right but if they are wrong how long before we look for change? I would like to see Boris, Michael,Jacob all running the show because if they fail they can't blame anyone but themselves. If they succeed they will make Trump look like a novice. How long?

Yes we do have international respect, just look at our soft power ranking for the proof.

"On what"

I was thinking that. The OP was a bit vague, 2nd referendum on EU membership, or 2nd referendum on the alternative voting system, or 2nd referendum in Catalonia? Think the OP needs to be more specific.

Yeah there is no fixing this problem. Maybe we can divide up the country.Which is what may happen eventually.

It's hard to see Britain staying intact for too long post-Brexit, and it's kind of a division along Brexit voting lines, in a way ... How long then before the Cornish separatist reignite their bid for Independence?

I really don’t see us rejoining again because they would then expect a lot more and maybe even want us to adopt the euro

The French never wanted us to join in the first place and the French black balled us on a vote in the 1970's which initially blocked us from joining. Does any remainer really think the French or the wider EU will want us to rejoin after all this? They all have a veto now instead of a black ball. LOL.

The legal drive has been towards the UK sovereign power being used to accept or reject the offer for leaving.

The details of any deal are the most important thing, so sovereignty should be used wisely.

At present the government still has no statement of what they want and are instead just trying to keep the conservative party intact. It's prudent for the citizens and political representatives to therefore be cautious, ensuring that the deal is acceptable or not.

Rejecting an offer is potentially a very intelligent step to take - as would accepting something that is near perfect. It's important that no possibilities are ever overlooked, so that we can always do what is right for the correct reasons.

We've not actually left.

Stupidly we've not even told them yet what we would want as exit terms. Or how we'll uphold the Good Friday Agreement etc.

There is nothing about “unity” in the mind of any Brexiter that I have met. They would fuck off N Ireland and willingly lose Scotland in pursuance of their fantasy destination.

But in the modern era - "unions" are not well accepted anymore. We are a mini EU and as we know us Brits don't want to be lackeys to the Germans, so no suprise the Scottish, Welsh & Irish feel the same sentiment about the English?

Sadly I think the world is full of little countries trying to be something from days gone by. The grass is always greener .....
