The leader of UKIP clinging to his position whilst senior aides in the Party resign one after the other.
Is it time for UKIP to be put out of its misery? This is a slow and painful death being played out in the media. |

Think that it will only continue in its public demise which started after it achieved what was its goal in frightening a spineless PM to grant a cluster fuck of an ill thought out referendum..
for some they will remain true to it's ideology and it may perk up a tad as the fudge that is becoming the Brexit becomes clearer but it's influence and voice will disappear both locally and Nationally..

Often parasites will die, if it can't find a new host to bleed.
A one trick pony party that capitalized - in all senses of the word €€€£ - on disarray in other parties, the economic crash and other reasons for inadequate investment into our infrastructure (homes, hospitals etc) and have continued milking it ever since.
They are the frothing swivel eyed types who see little wrong with themselves - they enjoy the power trip - and get lost in their delusions. Worse than something that you'd avoid stepping on in the street. |

 Farage took Ukip to victory in the EU MEP elections, then forced Cameron into an in/out EU referendum which Leave went onto win. Like you I'll be forever greatful to Nigel Farage and Ukip for that. Ukip has achieved it's goal and served it's purpose and it does look like the party is coming to an end but it all depends on Brexit being delivered. If Brexit is not delivered for whatever reason then there will be a huge backlash from Leave voters against the Tories (and Labour as they have been trying to sabotage Brexit from the sidelines), and Ukip could make a comeback the like of which has never been seen before and the party could pull in more votes than even Nigel Farage ever managed as leader. |

No amount of backlash will put the clusterf*ck that is UKIP back together. This is all part of the plan. Let UKIP tear itself apart and then remind everyone the referendum was only advisory after all. |

So I have one vote here sitting for something new
and as you say above, if brexit is not delivered there will be some mighty pissed off people who will happily cast their votes in a new direction. |

I doubt it. In the years between the referendum and the next election, a lot of the 17 million brexit voters will have died in their care homes. And the slightly younger ones who have seen how much of a pigs ear Brexit has become will have changed their minds.
That coupled with the influx of younger voters who aren't europhobes may well tip the balance. |

Farage took Ukip to victory in the EU MEP elections, then forced Cameron into an in/out EU referendum which Leave went onto win. Like you I'll be forever greatful to Nigel Farage and Ukip for that. Ukip has achieved it's goal and served it's purpose and it does look like the party is coming to an end but it all depends on Brexit being delivered. If Brexit is not delivered “for whatever reason” the reason will not be whatever - but because of a specific reason... like for example people continue to realise the folly of it because of the drip, drip, drip of negative facts.

The UK economy has performed far better than the remain scaremongers forecasts. Last year the UK economy grew more than what the IMF, and the World bank predicted. Far from hundreds of thousands of jobs leaving for the EU only a handful have left in comparison, and financial experts say London will still remain the financial centre of Europe after Brexit. Far from direct foreign investment drying up it has instead continued and London was the biggest recipient of Tech investment in Europe in 2017. Productivity just hit a 6 year high in the UK. Face it Project Fear is flat on its arse and has been exposed for the scaremongering nonsense it really is. |
