Trump brand in crisis

Happy to be a President but it seems like brand Trump is suffering as a consequence.

Hotel rooms under occupied, room yields down and a lack of advance bookings.

How “sad” that the President is negatively affecting his own business. Legendary acumen... How to turn $Billions into $Millions. Just ask Donald.

Funny thing is as a private citizen you can be as racist, bigoted and exclusionist as you like and sell those beliefs as exclusivity to those like to have their preconceptions indulged and their egos constantly massaged. However when you then step into public office and give public vent to your spleen you find that those self same people who bought into your 'exclusivity' quickly look to distance themselves from your brand because regardless of their private views they will not want to be publicly associated you and your utterances.

Maybe, he will be able to get the KKK and white supremacists to take up the slack. But somehow I think the rednecks are more at home in pickup that gold cart, trailer than 5 star hotel suits and the woods with an assault rifle, pick-up and barbi than a fine dining restaurant and a tasting menu.

Not quite. The Trump brand extends far beyond just hotel rooms. In fact Trump's election as President has boosted Ivanka Trump's Perfume and Clothing/Fashion line sales. Ivanka Trump's Perfume brand saw sales increase despite Nordstrom shopping malls saying they would stop selling Trump products following the election of Donald Trump. Ivanka Trump's Perfume sales increased so much in the weeks and months following Trump's election as President, that the Ivanka Trump perfume topped the charts for Purfume sales on Amazon.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/18/sales-ivanka-trumps-perfume-soar-nordstrom-row/

Ivanka Trump's fashion brand/clothing line also saw a sales "boom" even though there were calls to boycott the Trump clothing line. Following Trump's election as President sales increased 5 fold to some 557% rise in sales. There is no such thing as bad publicity and the Trump clothing and perfume sales prove this.

I guess it helps to have a then white house employee shill for you on national television.

Sure, it's a clear cut ethics violation, but when has that ever mattered to a Trump.

I'm hoping to visit USA while Trump is President, and I'll be looking to book into one of Trump's hotels. A relative of mine also has a birthday coming around soon, I'll probably get her some of that Ivanka Trump perfume for her birthday.

Good time to visit. Incoming tourist numbers are down significantly meaning that the immigration queues are now non-existent. Long gone are the annoying two hours waits just to be fingerprinted by Homeland Security.

By all accounts they do a fantastic job of being a poor persons idea of what a rich person's hotel is like.

Now that is the biggest load of shit I have read in a long time

I flew into San Francisco 6th December and almost missed my connection flight due to huge queues, and there was a 3 hour gap, what you have stated there is absolute pish, you obviously do not visit the USA very much

Yes, actually collected data is, of course, no match for the anecdote of that time you very nearly missed your flight.

No - only 5 or 6 times a year via East coast Hubs.

Where on earth did you fly from to make San Francisco your port of entry and Hub? Most hubs for European flights are on the east coast and the west coast hubs are for flights from Asia.

Thanks by the way for saying that you were in California. It kind of highlights the complete bullshit post you made about everyone you met being Trump fans. In California???? As if... lol

Edinburgh - Heathrow

Heathrow - San Fran

San Fran - Kahului

you need to educate yourself on UK flights, again you are full of shit regarding flying into east coast as first port of entry

You will also be aware Homeland Security no longer fingerprints you if you have visa waiver, you do it yourself

Whatever you say... I use the Global Entry channel these days but when I did stand in line at Philadelphia, JFK or Newark - fingerprints were taken of all arrivals.

There were no queues in March 2017, May 2017, July 2017, September 2017 and November 2017. Around those same dates 12 months previously the queues were so long that on two of the five occasions I missed connecting flights that had three hour layover times.

The evidence that I saw with my own eyes is backed up by data that is easily researched and which is known generally as “the Trump slump.”

May 2017 I also flew into Newark, first port of entry heading to Denver and same queues as normal like every year previous

Also flew direct to Vegas in mid September, again same large queues no change from normal

and hey I would love to have the opportunity to fly in and get straight through with "as you say" - no queues

again no queues is bullshit.

Th first port of call in this case might be to assess how accurate or relevant the information actually is .

The poster does not cite the source of his information but the data appears to be derived from one particular booking website . There are many booking websites of which the source data is one . If a company decided to pay less commission to ome website and possibly obtain preferential terms from another site , one would expect bookings through the site which earned less commission to decrease .

A more important indicator might be overall margin per room occupied .

Green arrow yourself and look at what an angry and embittered poster you have become.

Lots of people on this site know me personally and what I do for a living. I don’t need to lie or make shit up. I have opinions that are different to yours but I don’t make shit up. You make shit up.

The East coast hubs are nowhere near as busy as they were in 2016 - that is just a fact and the DHS figures align to that slump.

California is a Democrat State and in California the cities are even more Democrat. Hawaii is overwhelmingly Democrat. (Remember your prior post about “everyone you met being a Trump supporter?”) it follows then then if you make such a blatant lie then other things you say may also be questionable. Therefore when DHS tourist numbers are down and my experience at the east coast hubs matches official statistical reporting - I am going to question someone who states that west coast hubs are busier. I don’t know that because I don’t use them but the assertion does not match with official statistics. You may be right - I just doubt it.

I tent to find that Trump supporters, like Brexiters just make shit up and decide they are facts.

"To clarify you said you see no harm in them wearing such..

Just sounds like a bit of typical lefty deflection tactics to me.

Chuck out some disgraceful insults that pretty much compared the president of the USA to a kiddie fiddler and a mass murderer and when you get pulled on it dream up some spurious allegation about the person that called you out.

Besides "See no harm in them wearing such" is not even the type of wording I would use.

Who were "them"? Actors making a WW2 movie? A WW2 themed fancy dress?

You seem to have a better memory than me so come on tell the whole story.

If there is one to tell.

Costa Blanca Spain...

For the record. I never was a Trump supporter and I think that so far he has been pretty hopeless in the job.

The closest I ever got to him was that I thought he was the lesser of two evils when compared to Hilary.

I still stand by that view.

"To clarify you said you see no harm in them wearing such..

When asked to elaborate you went schuman..

Just sounds like a bit of typical lefty deflection tactics to me.

Chuck out some disgraceful insults that pretty much compared the president of the USA to a kiddie fiddler and a mass murderer and when you get pulled on it dream up some spurious allegation about the person that called you out.

Besides "See no harm in them wearing such" is not even the type of wording I would use.

the issue was the fascists marching in Charlottesville, you didn't really participate in the debate apart from glibly saying 'see no harm in them wearing it'..

it being nazi regalia and garb..

then when you were challenged you went schtum, not shuman..

I wonder what kind of mental gymnastics you have to pull to say that while someone has been "pretty hopeless" his far more qualified opponent would have been worse.

But there I go, with that horrible leftist tactic of asking the obvious questions...

You are either confusing me with someone else, or telling down right lies.

I've mostly stayed out of the politics forum for quite some time and never commented on any of the three Charlottesville threads at all.

Obvious question maybe but not necessarily obvious answer.

Clinton had far too much baggage (Whitewater & Libyan embassy to name just two)

Also she seemed hell bent on squaring up to Putin. Something that could have has disastrous consequences for all of us.

What I said at the time was how surprised I was that a modern country of 300 million people could only give the choice of Trump and Clinton.

To be honest it was shocking.

To be fair he wouldn't have been my choice but I think he would have been better than either of the other two.

The baggage you're citing, like Benghazi, would that be the same big heap of nothing that was investigated endlessly and found to be, shockingly, nothing?

Yup, I can see how that would be something to consider.

As for squaring up to Putin, I guess letting the authoritarian strongman do as he pleases is a good idea. Certainly, nothing could go wrong.

I never said that Trump was a safe pair of hands, far from it.

However I remember Hilary was making a lot of noise about eastern Europe much to the anger of the Russians, and Putin is a totally different animal to little fat boy in Korea.

I thought she was dangerous, you obviously didn't.

Vive la différence as the French would say.
