Keeping her act together today...... simply refusing to answer the questions asked. Like “our policy is....”
Marr then points out “that’s not what I asked” “Specifically....”...repeat question again.
Diane then give same answer with “specifically “ slapped in front.
She’s been well primed and holding her line well!

Andrew Marr actually read out a direct quote from her from November .... She said at the time her constituents would support a second referendum (didn’t say how she “knew” this.) Therefore she would “campaign” for the electorate to have a second say on this. You can watch again on I-Player should you wish to.
However she then backtracked to say that meant parliament would decide as they “represent’ the people.
The first question asked if labour supported continued membership of or close alignment to the single market. Her answer was “specifically” that they would seek a brexit for jobs. |

Neither of them
Labour are in a mess over Europe. Their younger, more active, members are pro Europe, but corbyn can't afford to alienate the north . Corbyn thinks Europe is anti socialist, but recognises that he needs the single market and freedom of movement.
Hence he avoids a position. |

Quote from Dianne Abbott
Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott would support a second referendum on the final terms of a Brexit deal, she has told constituents — despite official party policy.
In a letter obtained by The Guardian, the senior Labour MP wrote that "I will argue for the right of the electorate to vote on any deal that is finally agreed."
Read carefully what shes saying

"So she clearly said she DOES support a second referendum....and would argue FOR it. How clear does it have to be?
You are your own source!"
"I will fight for the electorates right to vote on any agreement" & "I will fight for a second referendum" are clearly not the same thing.
I Still can't stand the woman though..

Corbyn also knows that it would be much easier to re-nationalise utilities outside of the EU.
As I understand it, now they are privately owned, they would fall foul of monopoly laws if they were to be re-nationalised. |

The electorates (that’s us..the voters....not the MPs in parliament) right to vote on any agreement (that would require a second referendum).
What else could it mean? |

Well it could mean what she now says it means. It could also mean what you and her constituents thought it meant when she said it. We'll find out what it actually means when it's politically expedient to let us know.
Having met her I actually quite like her even though I seldom agree with what she says. |
