So if we pay this £8.5 billion as a tariff then Centaur, then a % must surely be applied to each transaction of trade to be a tariff, so if our trade with the EU doubled Centaur would our "tariff" bill of £8.5 billion also double then, or is it a membership fee after all that gives benefits and trade discounts ? |

The tariff we pay or what we pay has hardly anything to do with trade....more disinformation from you...how many times do people have to prove you wrong on things for you to realise?....we pay a fee as most other EU countries do to get the benefits of being in the club...trade is one....and grants for infrastructure is another....most likely half the places that gets grants from the EU wouldn't have them especially under this government |

"the EU project as a whole has failed big time
That is why the whole of the uk has voted overwhelmly to leave"
If it had failed "big time" shouldn't there be more countries looking to leave?
Certainly, it makes more sense that if you believe the above Brexit becomes a slightly more palatable idea. |

What ever 52% to 48% is, it's definitely not overwhelming. I'd call it more 'a dambed close thing'. The whole BREXIT project could still be totally lost by the BREXITers themselves with their total inability to recognise this simple fact and compromise even a little. |

I consider over a million votes to be an overwhelming number. Leave got over a million more votes than Remain. In fact the Leave vote in the EU referendum is the biggest vote for anything, ever, in the entire history of the UK. |

Sorry to disappoint you but 52 to 48 is not overwhelming

Certainly, it makes more sense that if you believe the above Brexit becomes a slightly more palatable idea. " As a significant number of Countries are net beneficiaries of EU funding it is unlikely that they would wish to leave. The only countries who would want to consider leaving are the net contributors . The UK have decided that their contribution was poor value for money . |

*some* of the UK believed it was poor value for money. I, personally, thought it was pretty good value for money. I wonder how those that thought it was poor value for money feel now that the cost of leaving has been revealed. Not the 'divorce bill', but the cost of all the civil servants time in dealing with all this. And the cost to replace from scratch all the services that we lost.

Yes, but it is about proportions isn't it. I mean, 13 million registered voters didn't vote in the referendum... would you call that overwhelming? Hilary Clinton got 2.8 million more votes than your buddy Trump did. Would you call that overwhelming?
If you really wanted to you could probably say that the vote to remain in the EU was the 2nd biggest vote for anything, ever, in the entire history of the UK. Doesn't really mean anything though, does it?
Your idol Farage said that if it was this close a call for remain winning then he would not accept it and demand a do-over. So clearly he doesn't think the margin is 'overwhelming'.

The whole of the UK vote to leave!? Are you joking. It was a targeted vote based on lies and populist propaganda.
UK is a good laugh now.
While unity is the future, UK wants to be just a small island. |

I'll take your silence on this matter as your admission of being incorrect over this point then Centaur |
