I was watching sky news and it was interesting, lord kerr who helped draft article 50 will accuse the prime minister of misleading the public over whether brexit can be reversed. I think they should do it, what is your view? |

"Do you believe that or are you just attempting a mass argument lol ??I know it can be and it would be a fun discussion too lol. Yes it can be . But it won't !!" I reckon they could do it at the very last minute as they start to realise their paradise is just a pipe dream.

Article 50 is the intent to leave, the process of leaving.
The actual act of leaving is almost instant in comparison.
It’s always been possible to stop at any time.

Can brexit be reversed? Of course it can.
Will brexit be reversed? I doubt it very much.
Why? Because those in power (the government) place their personal and party interests above those of the country and the people of this country have been so conditioned by decades of anti EU propaganda from ultra right wing press that half the voting population believe all our ills flow from the EU and would crucify anyone who tries to reverse brexit. |

Nope...
Not the end of it by a long chalk...
Now I agree leave polled the highest and because of the way the referendum was arranged the result means we are leaving although not even 40% (minimum needed for a union to call a strike) of the electorate voted to leave. But the leave campaign was based on false promises and lies and when they are shown to be exactly that there will be a settling of accounts. Nige knows this, that is why he has already said that if brexit is a failure he will leave the UK, I expect there will be many more doing the same or leaving public life and hoping that by lying low they will escape the backlash that is coming. |

I am sure that it can be reversed at any time buy no-one has explained why we would want to do this .
If the EU are unable to have their own accounts audited it is difficult to see why we should have any faith in it as an organisation let alone pay in between 8 and 12 billion per annum . Other countries are now panicking at the loss of this very significant contribution.
I prefer the more open minded and tolerant approach of trading on World Trade Organisation rules as opposed to being part of a cartel.
The opinion of Tim Martin of Wetherspoons is highly relevant on this issue . Adapting wto terms will allow us to scrap EU food tariffs on goods imported from overseas reducing the average cost of a meal in a Wetherspoon pub by 3.5 p and a drink by .5p. Tim Martin is also a qualified barrister .
Whilst no one can predict the future, it would appear that we can only gain by leaving the EU unless anyone has any valid contra arguments .
In addition to running a highly successfull business whose share price has risen from 500 p to 1240 in the space of five years he also has |

we were lied to, whatever next?
Both sides lied.
I waited for three lots of info to come through the post: Remain, leave and neutral. I never received info for leave. So i don't feel I was lied to by the leave campaign |

The old "EU can't have their accounts audited" canard rears it's ugly head.
The court of auditors has signed off on the accounts of the EU every year for the last decade.
Of course, the problem lies that that there's two standards that they check for. One is that the accounts are "fair and accurate" and the other is that the payments are "free from material errors".
Meeting the second requires an error rate if less than 2%. The EU is currently at 3.1%, which is a drop from 4% or so in previous years.
You will never entirely eliminate errors in something the size of the EU, but this "they're not audited!" is bullshit. |

If the criteria is that the accounts should be free from material errors this means that there is already a sufficient allowance for minor errors . Consequently we should not have to accept any errors . I cannot see many directors of any large plcs surviving if their accounts have any error rates .It seems odd that we should have to accept a 2 % error rate from the EU and they cannot even achieve that. Hardly confidence inspiring. Does anyone know the total expenditure for all EU countries and what a 4 % error rate equates to in money terms. I am guessing that it is a very substantial amount and that we can hardly justify describing the audit issues as being bullshit. |

Given the size and mechanisms of the EU 2% is an aggressive target, I would say it's confidence inspiring.
"We should not have to accept any errors"? Nonsense. Nothing is perfect, nothing has an error rate of zero. You're asking for the impossible and then getting stroppy when it's not delivered.
So, yes, it's all bullshit, including the doubling down you did on it not being so. |

Really?
The Exchequer and BoE have refused to release details of how much has been spent since the referendum propping up the £ and economy, I wonder why? Especially when you consider that over the last 18 months the value of the £ has dropped 20% and the economy has gone from being the best preforming and growing in the EU to the worst preforming in the industrialised world with the lowest growth in the EU. Maybe, just maybe Mark Carney has been right all along but is actually so good at his job that he managed to spread the hit over months by using the powers he has as the governor of the UK bank of last resort. Maybe he is so far ahead of the curve that even when warning of the dire effects a brexit vote would engender he was laying the groundwork to stop market and national panic by putting out a story that said the £ was 20% overvalued.
Just a thought, for what it is worth... |

There appears to be a total lack of control in hoe EU funding is spent . Considering the errors referred to below it is hardly surprising that the auditors refuse to sign off the accounts .
This means about £1billion was wrongly paid out by beaurocrats.
6.8 percent of the €40.7 billion (£34.3billion) spent on regional policy, energy and transport was also spent in error. That mistake cost more than £2 billion.
Vitor Caldeira, the president of the ECA, warned that a backlog of bills ‘will put added pressure on EU cash flows and may increase the risk of error over the next few years’.

It's not only the discrepancies and gargantuan waste from the EU in its unaudited accounts European taxpayers should worry about, the EU is wasteful in the extreme to what it openly admits to. Such as the travelling circus of the European Parliament from Brussels to Strassbourg once a month at an estimated cost of 150 million a year. Since this has been happening it is estimated to have cost around or over 2 billion in Total, money which European taxpayers may as well have chucked down the drain or set a match to and burned into thin air. The travelling circus of the European Parliament is a vanity project which is utterly pointless and completely unnecessary, the sooner we are out from under this willfully wasteful shit show the better. |

Check your rules on strike votes. Then come back with the facts on % required..
Nige didn’t say if brexit was a failure he would leave. He said he would leave if it was blocked or reversed....
As for the lies...they were on both sides. Tgecremain side had the money and the government behind them...but they still lost.
We may regret the decision. We may not agree with it...but it was taken. Let’s stop griping and make the best of it. |

So by your own logic - the larger the EU becomes - the more errors we can expect?
I particularly like the term 'errors' - it sounds so much better than 'corruption'
If 4% errors on an annual budget of 160 billon - gets signed off every year - How many errors are required for the EU Court of Auditors not to sign it off?

Of course, the problem lies that that there's two standards that they check for. One is that the accounts are "fair and accurate" and the other is that the payments are "free from material errors".
Meeting the second requires an error rate if less than 2%. The EU is currently at 3.1%, which is a drop from 4% or so in previous years.
You will never entirely eliminate errors in something the size of the EU, but this "they're not audited!" is bullshit.
As long as it's judged to be fair and accurate it'll be signed off. If it's got an error rate of under two percent it'll be judged to be free from material errors.
As for "the larger the EU becomes - the more errors we can expect" it appears you've not been paying attention, the error rate has been dropping over time, and the EU has increased in size during that time.
Which would out paid to your notions.
Other than Croatia joining some 4 or 5 years ago, you do realise the EU hasn't grown in size for over 10 years?
"
Yes.

"I was watching sky news and it was interesting, lord kerr who helped draft article 50 will accuse the prime minister of misleading the public over whether brexit can be reversed. I think they should do it, what is your view? You do not believe in democracy you believe in dictatorship,we are democratic and must remain so,your simply a traitorSo was brexit democratic? You can argue it was illegal in the first place.
How?That cameron was forced to promise a referendum.
How?
The Tory party or CaMoron called the referendum to try to purge the Tory party of UKIPers and strengthen his own position...he thought he would win it backfired enormously so much he had to resign...in the same way May will be forced to resign....these Tory twats are putting there own careers and party in front of whats best for the country "
Exactly. Not forced and not illegal. |

No we don't.
If it was illegal, don't you think someone in the remain camp would have discovered that in order to nullify the referendum result? |
