Oh how i remember on these very pages people on here claiming Scotland will get 13 frigates build on the Clyde

2014 - 13 type 26 frigates promised to Scotland if it voted no to independence

Nov 2016 - it changed to 8 type 26 frigates which btw only 3 have been signed still wait on the other 5 type 26 frigates to be signed

and also in 5 type 31e frigates were promised to the Clyde

Which i was being told on these very pages adds up to 13 frigates

Well the 5 type 31e ships will no longer be build on the Clyde as promised

So everyone that claimed 13 frigates will be build on the Clyde looking rather silly

You do know people voted no on the promise for 13 type 26 frigates so why is it now acceptable to lie to Scotland ?

BAE themselves say that shipbuilding capacity on the Clyde will be full until the mid 2030s while the Ministry of Defence want the first of the new Type 31 Frigates in service by 2023. Its pretty simple, the Clyde cant deliver the type 31 in time because they do not have the capacity to do so. The Clyde has still got work for twenty years but thats not good enough for you.

Incidentally, how many Royal Navy warships would be built on the Clyde if Scotland was independent?

So how many frigates are going to be build on the Clyde whats the promise now ?

Remember weeks ago people on here telling me 13 frigates were 100% going to be build on the Clyde is it still 13 ?

My count is

3 type 26 frigates signed

5 type 26 firgates still waiting for them to be signed

That only makes 8 correct ? We have all just seen the 5 type 31e frigates will no longer be build on the Clyde after they were promised

So it leaves it sitting at 3 right and this very minute

strange as no voters were told in 2014 vote no and 13 type 26 frigates will be build on the Clyde and here we are now same no voters on here dont seem bothered that promise has been broke which is shocking that you dont care about those Clyde workers the very ones that voted no what do you think they feel now at being lied to ?

20 years of work and still they complain. Yet the alternative, independence, would build no warships for the Royal Navy on the Clyde.

I can honestly say that my no vote wasnt really influenced by ship building on the Clyde very much. As it would seem as your yes vote, a yes vote would have devastated shipbuilding on the Clyde. We would be looking at no Royal Navy warships being built on the Clyde, unless you know different. I will say one thing, its good to see BAE getting some competition from other yards, its actually good for the tax payer that the MoD are not exclusively dealing with BAE.

13 frigates are being built on the Clyde.

Fallon said they could bid for the work, not that it was guaranteed.

Please please please prove me wrong though with a quote promising that they would be built on the Clyde. How about a signed contract? Anything of that nature? Prove me wrong, show me the quote and I will give you my sincerest apologies.

There is no announcement about where the Type 31e frigates will be built. A decision has not yet been made.

The vow was a joke. Tax and welfare powers devolved to Scotland is a joke. The sooner we get free from this corrupt union the better. I for one can't understand how anyone in Scotland can vote tories. Total scum of the earth the way they treat the unemployed,disabled and working poor. That includes the whole of the uk not just Scotland. When the time is right,Scotland will have our vote and break this union up for good.

A yes vote in Scotland, would have seen Scotland out of the EU in March 2016.

A no vote avoided that, but we all knew that a referendum on the UK,s membership was a distinct possibility prior to Scotlands independence referendum. Numerous politicians, including sturgeon warned of this before Scotland voted.

Well it gets to the heart of it. Are you really worried that 13 aren't being built, and will be relieved to hear that 13 are. Or are you just wanting to bang the independence drum. If it's the former, I will gladly explain it to you, however if it's the later, and you don't really care how many are being built, then nothing I say will make a difference, so there would be no point explaining it.

If any customer (MOD) wishes to order any number of items (frigates) from a supplier (Clyde)...and the supplier is INCAPABLE of supplying the required goods...the customer will go elsewhere! It isn't rocket science!

Scottish yards have let the MOD down...
