Well it was too scripted and presidential, so she's right about that at least. But if that had been the only problem she might still have an overall majority.

not good....

when you say the best part of the speech was her dealing with the bloke who gave her the p45, it doesn't say much about the speech...

if that was her attempt at a reboot.... then it was shody...

oh, i thought when milliband suggested an energy cap in 2015, they said it was a bad marxist idea, and yet....2017.... here we are!

it was a like a comedian basically dying on stage.... the cough and the stunt are going to take away from what a bad speech it actually was....

Mines has to be that May accepted her P45 god she really is thick as mince and a fucking laughing stock

So I take it that you all believe that Jeremy Corbyn and Labour would do better job of everything overall then.

So labour get in power what then, what would they do differently.

Would labour politicians tell the truth, you know like all the conservatives are liars.

How would the NHS fare, what about social housing, what about the homeless on the streets, would we get another referendum,

The list is endless so would Labour really do a better job then the Tories, before the Tories got in power how was Labours record in government til then.

There is a lot of very politically minded posters on here way more savvy than me.

So I really would like to know, would Labour do a better job

Is it me. Or is May listening to Corbyn. Not fully but partly. He's doing a good job as the opposition. She overturned her ridiculous manifesto. Tuition fee freeze, more council housing, capping electricity prices and I heard they are raising the minimum wage. JC is bringing her slightly to the left

Historically I have always been a Conservative as I felt that they were more trustworthy. That changed when Cameron announced the EU referendum which in my opinion over simplified a very complex issue. Since then, the conservatives have fumbled their way in Government and this cabinet is probably the most incompetent and irrrlevant bunch of people to have served in high Office in recent history.

The U.K. didn’t need an EU referendum, it needed a change in the way that we are all governed so that people feel more connected to politics. Yes there was an AV regerendum, but as neither of the big parties would have benefitted, the debate was inconsequential.

Labour under Corbyn would change this country, of that there is no doubt. Done things would be better for many and some things would probably be worse for others but overall I think that the U.K. would become a socially improved place to live despite the fact that I personally would probably be worse off under a Corbyn Labour Govt.

The last Labour Govt did actually have quite a good record with the economy until the financial crash and so they can’t be totally blamed for the mess that was left in 2010. Did they do wrong things and did they do corrrct things? Of course, and like any Govt in any country they didn’t do everything right including the way that they funded the extra money that went into the NHS. The idea was right, the execution was wrong - but hindsight is wonderful.

Back to May and her current shower of shite. They are all completely paralysed because of Brexit and because of the tiny majority that they have. After today’s performance I am sure that no one can realistically see these turnips lasting their full term in Office. The vote of no confidence will be along in the next 12 months or so - that seems a fairly decent bet anyway,

I come from the same place as you on this and totally agree with what you say in the first part of your post. However I remain totally unconvinced by Jeremy Corbyn's and his policies. It would be a double whammy disaster in my opinion for a disastrous populist BREXIT to be followed by a high spending socialist populist; although it looks ever more that that is what is going to happen.

the problem is that it feels like that is is labour that is in effect the one setting the agenda and it is the tories that are having to respond..

case in point enegry price cap

tuition fees where rather than then proudly annoucing fees aren't going up, it reminds people that it is 9200 per year!! and in that respect "fees aren't going up" aren't going to win votes...

housing policy... labour promise to build houses.. tories follow, labour then say they won't allow developers to hoard land waiting for housing prices to go up... tories follow

the problem is that the speech needed to be able to allow the conservatives to be the ones setting the narrative... the speech didn't

I remember you posting on here just after David Cameron won his general election in 2015. You said you agreed with his decision to call an EU referendum to let the people decide because it helped him to win the general election with a majority while Miliband refused to let the people decide on the matter and that contributed to Miliband's defeat. You agreed with Cameron's decision to call an EU referendum initially because you thought Remain would easily win. You thought (just like Cameron) that an EU referendum campaign would be a walk in the park. Didn't quite turn out like that though and Cameron is now history (along with his chancellor Osborne).

May's speech was so full of crap I thought at one point she might actually throw up on it, the words she was spewing out certainly kept getting stuck in her throat. Maybe it was the vision of her vicar father rolling in his grave that was getting to her. So much for strong and stable.

The Conservative party membership has dropped to under 100,000 and still they claim to best represent the population of Britain while championing tax breaks for the super rich and big business and targeting their austerity measures at the poor and the public sector.

The sooner we are shot of this shower of self-serving egotistical power-hungry liars the better.

She was on borrowed time after her stupid decision to u turn and call the election, problem is they have no one who they agree on to succeed her and they are facing the mess that is Brexit and an opposition leader who they laughed at 18 months ago and revelled in his stock being low within his party and now they are truly worried that they will implode and possible put him in number 10..

she is weak, indecisive and has exhibited a lack of judgement which in 'normal times' would have had her binned by her own..

so they profess loyalty and scratch their heads in private about what to do..

we as a country are not in the best place just now, the sun drenched warm nirvana that is post Brexit when it will be 'great' is looking as shallow and uncertain as the idiot's who believe it and preach it from their elected protected positions..
