it's speculative ... maygabe has demanded the infighting stop .... if the infighting doesn't stop then she has shown that she has no control over her government ... then the stalking horses will be let out of the stables .... it a dangerous play on her part |

Every party leader has told their party to stop the infighting. Its hardly new. |

So, is this your first experience of a pm in a tight spot (I use that phrase VERY loosely by the way)? There's plenty more where that came from... |

You mean like the ones that resigned or had a vote of no confidence? Meh. I'm sure someone who knows how to use Wikipedia will be along shortly... |

Well all if them actually.
Harrold Wilson had to resign in 1975.
Jim Callaghan, after the winter of discontent, lost the support of his cabinet and went on to lose the General Election.
Margaret Thatcher was isolated by her cabinet in 1992 and had to resign.
John Major was relentlessly attached my cabinet colleague.
Tony Blair lost the support of his cabinet and resined in 2008.
Gordon Brown never had the support of his cabinet or party and lost the election in 2010.
David Cameron jumped before he was pushed after loosing the EU referendum in 2016.
Teresa May will probably stay until at least 2019/20 or even 2022 for the simple reason that no one wants to take the blame for the almost inevitable BREXIT fiasco. |

Tony Blair tried to cling onto power but after revelations about that famous restaurant meeting in Islington after John Smith's death, where Brown promised Blair a clear leadership run in return for Blair eventually stepping aside for Brown, were made public, his position became fragile indeed. |

See there was a film about it in 2003, 5 years before Blair stepped down, so hardly a direct causal link between the two. |
