"Perhaps it's just Good Cop/Bad Cop with the EU "
Good cop/bad cop only works if bad cop is credible.
No one in the EU thinks Boris is credible, responsible or even really understands the situation. |

"Is he trying to get sacked?"
Of course he is! He knows austerity and brexit are poison to the political career in power when their consequences finally become undeniable by the tory rump, and he knows that day is rapidly approaching. He also knows that if he bails his political career will be over, so he needs May to sack him.
It must be really frustrating for him to know he filled the poison chalice and found a way to avoid being forced to pick it up after the Moron ran from office only to have the chosen sacrifice tie him to her and so far refuse to release him from those bonds.
I wonder what he will try next... |

Yeah, I can't say there are any that stand out at the moment that I really support. |

Boris has only one objective, apart from keeping his huge pile of money, which is to get the prime minister job. He will do and say anything to achieve that.
He wants to be separated from the brexit shit pile that his lies created and now would be as good a time as any.
Only the stupid would support such a charlatan. |

Yeah, to be fair though, the poem isn't really offensive and he stopped when the ambassador told him too. In terms of Boris gaffes, this is nothing. I think people are just using it as a stick to beat him with. |

"Yes he is, cos noone want to be hold account of brexit lol.
To be PM you need to come out on top. He has to separate himself from Brexit and May." That is right he is, but do they really want a clown as a pm?
How come he writes the brexit plans? |

That's why May should make him Brexit Secretary. Hang it like an anchor around his neck and throw him in the deep end. Serves him right for repeatedly stabbing her in the back.

"Latest from BoJo...
The £140,000 a year ministerial salary is not enough to live on...
From the man who voted against removing the 1% cap on public sector pay rises..."
How much does he get for writing and public speaking?
Personally I think that MPs should only get their salaries and shouldn’t be allowed to have other incomes or salaries. |

If I remember correctly he gets another £3,000 a week for writing his torygraph column and I seem to remember that he is the highest paid MP with outside interests that earn him over half a million a year.
And I totally agree with you no MP should have other incomes or salaries. |

And if he doesn't like his ministerial salary, he should try being a district or county councillor! I know that suggesting raising the salaries of politicians is never popular, but at those levels (district & county) they are not paid enough to live on. So the only people who can afford to do it are the rich and the retired, which is hardly representative of their constituents. |

To be honest I would raise all their salaries (and pensions) to a level where once a person is elected to political office they would be set for life and have no need to take bribes (no matter how well disguised they are). Of course I also make the penalties for taking bribes so draconian that only the insane would consider the risk worth taking. |

Boris Johnson gave up his weekly Daily Telegraph in July 2016, on appointment to Foreign Secretary.
He does write occasional articles for newspapers. |

It's never popular to say this but a good job in the city will easily earn you 250k+ so compared to what they could earn elsewhere they don't earn huge salaries. Without the outside interests no one would take the jobs or they would be even bigger morons than the ones we have now |

No, you would get people who did it because they care about the work they are doing, not for the money. There are plenty of nurses or soldiers or teachers that could work in the city for £250k, but instead chose to work in a job for £25k because that's what they want to spend their lives doing. |

The last time being an MP was an unpaid position, the only people that did it were those already rich enough not to work.
It was not a good situation. |
