OK.... so in the referendum campaign labour (same as tories) officially campaigned to remain....although Corbin didn't exactly seem enthusiastic.
Following the result labour (same as tories) accepted the result and official policy was out of customs union and single market etc.
During the election they very cleverly (as I pointed out on a previous thread) projected different messages in different seats....strongly pro exit in generally northern seats with larger out votes. Very much "soft" in southern seats with larger remain votes.... seemingly against a "hard" brexit etc.
Worked wonders in the election. Conned millions.
.
Now Kier Starmer is blurring the lines again...talking if remaining in customs union/single market for potentially years to come..... will it work on a national scale?
Conning people in individual seats, with different messages can work...but could it work on a national level....or is it just emphasising the confusion in his party (same as the tories?) |

this little experiment of the tories that was brought about by them by duping the public into voting on which faction of the conservatives ongoing civil war would assume power after the referendum has dragged the country deep into the shit swamp and still the far righties are frothing at the mouth with their disgusting and scummy ideaologies.
i saw the Sleaford Mods play a gig last sunday. it wasn't surprising that the thousands of crowd members cheered in agreement when they pronounced over the PA, "Fuck England..... it's a fucking shit-hole" .... and in using that statement they are utterly and unequivocally correct |

To make it clear Labour only said they would stay in the single market and the customs union during a transition period. After the transition period is over we would still leave the single market and the customs union. It's really irrelevant what Labour think now anyway, they lost the general election they are in opposition and they are not the government. It's the government who are conducting the exit negotiations not Labour. |

He was talking of a four year "transitional" period after 2019..... with an option of remaining in both long after that if it was thought agreeable..... including movement and ECJ jurisdiction.
Or "not leaving" in other words! |

The whole Brexit issue becomes a more and more ridiculous sideshow by the day. Conservative Brexiters want Brexit to be elmost like being in the EU but not. Meanwhile Brexit agitators in society take to social media with an ever determined attitude to make the country sound as hostile and unfriendly as possible. Really, just what is the point? This could be a completely pointless shit show that goes on for a decade or more.
The referendum result just demonstrates that the country is divided. There is no mandate to take the wheels of the economy for the sake of an independence that we already have and by the same token, had Remain won by a similar narrow margin there would be no mandate to immeditely adopt the Euro and join Shengen. |
