I raise this question as on another thread somebody questioned another forumee as to why they weren't putting themselves forward to be an MP instead of bitching all the time about how rubbish the ones we currently have are. For all I know there maybe one already out there LOL.
Soooooo..... Will we ever see an MP out there who is open about their sexuality and the fact they enjoy fun with more than one partner, who isn't ostracised for it. Or would the Sun and Express lay into them so much before the ballot that it would be impossible to get elected, even though the rest of their views fitted into the party manifesto.
It's an interesting thought isn't it. |

OK. Well I guess you've answered the question. They just end up being poked at as fun characters and dismissed as perverts and people who are shallow and without thought. Enough said

Yeah I suppose there might have been. Thing is though, once these people have been outed their career goes into a tailspin as it is perceived as a negative thing. I think it's a case of QED here peeps. I can't see there ever been a Fab MP who gets re -elected after outing, even though perhaps such a person maybe a fairly decent person otherwise. it's definitely something not to shout about. |

Why are we Brits so hung up on sex? The Italians have had a porn star as an MP and they are supposed to all be ultra conservative.
MRS should represent all walks of society, even singers. |

That is a fair point.
In Germany there is a quite famous TV actor who is a regular at one of the clubs we go to.
Everybody knows who he is, we even bumped into him one year in Cap d'Agde.
It certainly didn't harm his career. In Britain he would probably never work again. |
