Looks like Macron is Trumps new BBF. Bet May is green with envy. He held Trumps hand much more than she did.

That's probably because he's aware of the reception he'd get and how badly it would play out at home.

If he concludes and trade deals (which I'm doubtful about) with the UK before his visit there is a greater chance of making them stick. If he visits before any deals, the hostile reception he will inevitably get will make it much harder for him to swing any deals in our favour. Not that I think he would anyway. Any deal with Trump is bound to be a bad one with so many riders that it would be almost impossible to accept.

Limp wristed Macron is just getting a few tips in real handshaking from Trump. Macron is a gluten for punishment, surprised all the bones in his hand haven't been crushed by Trump upto now.

Seriously? Trump is about as feeble an old man as you're likely to get. Look at the condition of him. He can hardly walk without someone holding his hand. I doubt Trump could crush a soggy cardboard box.

I take it you missed the Trump Macron handshake that went viral a few weeks ago at the G7 then? Trump almost yanked Macron's arm out of its socket. Seeing Macron's arm getting rag dolled was funny as fuck. Macron is an embarrassment to France.

And Trump did it to Macron's wife too whilst in France. You must think he is such a big strong man the way he nearly yanked her arm out of it's socket. Especially then telling her "You're in such good shape. She's in such good physical shape. Beautiful".

The guy is a fucking embarrassment. I suppose you'll say he was doing some sightseeing down the runway when he couldn't spot his gert big limo right in front of him?

All I have to say is, since when did handshakes and strength become the sign of a competent modern leader?

If someone's going to put the strong man attitude on, they can at least have the physique, I mean for heavens sake, Theodore Roosevolt weight lifted and hiked around mountains, then took a bullet to the chest and just brushed it off. Trump looks like Golf is intense cardio for him - the rest of the worlds leaders look like a 2 mile job would be a challenge.

Not that I'm asking for the good old days where leaders were athletes or warriors to return, I'd rather have someone well versed in Law and economics.

Fact is, the over analysing of handshakes and a man testing to see how rag doll like the other people are shows how far politics has regressed.

Totally irrelevant when she still lost on the electoral collage vote and Labour still lost the general election by some 60 seats.

You need to get the blinkers off.

Macron is the kind of guy that Trump can understand and appreciate although not necessarily agree with. He created a political party from scratch and lead it to power in short order. That's the kind of man Trump can relate to.

By comparison, May took a working majority and turned it into a hung parliament. She's a loser and the world, including Trump, can see her as such.

What's the point in dealing with her when there's not much chance of her being around for much longer. The next Tory leader could have entirely different views. Trump can afford to play a waiting game to see how things pan out plus he's unlikely to want to be seen as too close to a lame duck leader. He like to be associated with success hence his friendship with Macron.

I cant wait for Trump to come to the UK cos I just love the idea of the "mass mooning" that is spreading across social media.

100,000 arses pointing at him will be a far more effective message than rioting or demonstrating.

Agreed, listening and watching Trump he is all about power politics, down to the individual, the nation, and business.

Just look at who he speaks directly and positively to, unchallenged winners or underdogs.

May is part of the Establishment, she screwed up a potential open goal in the GE. No matter how she spins stuff she'll look like she came 2nd place in Trump's eyes.

"Trump likes to be associated with success" one of his best friends and closet allies is Nigel Farage who was the first foreign politician to visit Trump after his election victory. As Trump likes to be associated with success is this why he has distanced himself from the EU then as the EU is turning out to be an abysmal failure and has more aligned himself with Brexit. Trump has the vision and foresight to see that long term the UK will be much better off politically, financially, economically, socially and culturally outside of the EU.

He's been elected plenty of times as an MEP Also achieved his lifetime political goal of taking Britain out of the EU. Farage was instrumental in bringing about the EU referendum and also happened to be on the winning side. As for being an MP he finished 2nd in the South Thanet seat in 2015 and the winner there Craig Markinlay is now being taken to court for election fraud. Let's see what the outcome of the case is.

Ah Emmanuel Macron, bless him, a very popular chap at the moment. Elected in the lowest turnout for quite a while in France. All 45 inhabitants of my local commune spoilt there ballot, or did not vote.

Yes a cut above is Emmanuel, cut his teeth in the banking world a few friends in high places a financière ministère under hollande ( mmm still France has no money!)

New party new MPs, some of which have resigned already!

Yes You hear all the time about Trump and the Russia thing, but what about Macrons banking deals? All those millions hidden away ?

Yes Mr Macron the saviour of the EU, looking forward to the changes he has promissed. One good thing he did away with the certificate of conformité for registering your car.

Yes it appears That President Trump is pretty welcome here and a few other places too. But Then the UK is as mad as a box of frogs, pardon the pun!

Lets face it President Macron and President Trump are the elected heads of State. Prime minister May is the elected Prime minister of UK despite the claims of some rambling commie socialist nutters!

Lets all move on, sit back and Watch the show, its better than sad soap tv !

So no MEPs are elected?"

Individuals are not directly elected no, you can only vote for a party. This is unlike an MP where you vote for a person. If that person resigns from the party, changes to a different party or stays as an independent, they stay your MP regardless. This isn't the case in European Parliamentary elections where you vote for a party with a list system.

Each party lists their candidates in order of priority. If the party wins 3 seats, the top 3 on the list sit in Parliament. If one of the 3 leaves for what ever reason, the number four on the list then becomes the MEP.

A point of interest in spoiling a ballot can only be achieved if your registered to vote in the UK, I only vote in mayoral elections here, I'm not allowed to vote in a presidential election as I am not a French National. As for enjoying my life in my commune, yes I do Thanks for asking, although I work hard for the privilege

"Looks like Macron is Trumps new BBF. Bet May is green with envy. He held Trumps hand much more than she did.

Theyre so embarrassed by him that they elected him with a huge majority and then elected members of his party in huge numbers. Meanwhile UKIP has ceased to exist and the Tories fail to win a working majority.....now who's an embarrassment?

Dont forget Hillary got 3m more votes than Donald did!

How many times has Farage failed to be elected?

He's been elected plenty of times as an MEP Also achieved his lifetime political goal of taking Britain out of the EU. Farage was instrumental in bringing about the EU referendum and also happened to be on the winning side. As for being an MP he finished 2nd in the South Thanet seat in 2015 and the winner there Craig Markinlay is now being taken to court for election fraud. Let's see what the outcome of the case is. "

Whatever the outcome of the court case that tosser Farage will never be an MP.
