Being an observant person partly living in London, I couldn't help noticing that both green man signal boxes have been placed both facing the pedestrian closest to them on each post.
So if you look accross the road you can't see a green man facing you from the top box. Otherwise there's no point having a box above as the box with the button does show a green man anyway.
I'm sure this is a serious f**k up.
Also junction from screwfix road to roundabout under flyover before Chiswick gives you a green light to go, then gives a green light at the same time to people on the roundabout. Recipy for disaster.
London is messed up.

I know what you mean. They replaced a load of pedestrian crossings in Bristol with the same a few years back. They are annoying as hell as I still instinctively look across for the green man on the other side. Also with large numbers of people about you can't see them on the post as someone else in the way. Also cycling towards them you can't see if they are green or not until you are right at them, so have to stop first. Maybe that is an intentional safety feature. But I order to be able to see them as I approach.

Cant you hear the beeping when its ok to cross, and when on the road its the traffic lights that are your concern not the walkers lights |

"Some don't even beep.
Being that they go putting parking spaces down roads that just about fit an ambulance.
I think it's just lack of logic.
How would blind people know when to cross

I've found these new pelican crossing lights really annoying put I've always assumed it was just me and thought I was just turning into a 'grumpy old man'.
But the thing I find most annoying about them is, try as I might, I haven't been able to find a way to blame it on BREXIT... Yet. grrrrrr |

The beeping means dont start to cross, but if you've started then carry on. |
