Anointment of St Vince, perhaps?

Or is it a case of knowing the departure, but not the destination?

Thank fuck that lip quivering sanctimonius little twat has departed the scene.

Legalise mind altering cannabis and tax it.

Then the NHS picks up the bill.

And of course play the God card as though he's the only Christian in Britain.

Never mind !! Sir Vince 74 year old Cable will step in.

And of course he'll repay his redundancy package.

Didn't think so.

No matter what legalisation "might" cost the NHS, it pales into insignificance to what is being paid out on the war against it.

Odd that the leader of the only Party who had a fully costed manifesto and the only Leader who actually said it like was without being populous - gets slated.

I've never believed that a tolerant society is a society that says what anyone does is right, only a society where everyone allows anyone the space to lead their own lives in accordance with their own beliefs.

I've seen no evidence that Tim Farron was in anyway homophobic or intolerant in either his actions or beliefs.

Agree. He has always voted in favour of LGBT rights, which is more than can be said for many politicians (Tories, mostly, obviously).

So the pressure on him on this issue has been entirely about what he thinks in his head, which, even if he does believe gay sex is a sin, does not affect the way he treats gay people.

Gained an a reduced share of the vote. This whole latest election was a montage of tactical voting.....hence even the conservatives increased their share of the vote....but lost seats.

One of the few positive achievements of Cameron.

Doesn't change the fact that more Tories vote against gay rights than Labour and LD.

OK, I shall check the voting record...

Oh, turns out 136 Tory MPs voted against it, and 127 for it. That's a pretty odd 'massive majority'.

Swap 'mixed marriage' for gay sex, and 'racist' for homophobic. Would you be saying the same about him?

Its definitely conspicuous how seemingly happy he was to compromise his religious principals prior to the crushing defeat in the election yet afterwards conveniently "rediscovered" them, decided politics was jeopardising his relationship with his faith.. then made a swift retreat back into the obscurity he crawled from..

Hmmmm.

The phrase "Mixed marriage" doesn't appear in this series of posts so I can't swap it. However I can equally say and agree with the following:-

I've seen no evidence that Tim Farron was in anyway racist or intolerant in either his actions or beliefs.

Churchill, Eden, Callaghan, Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown and May all claim or claimed to be Christian and all have had their fingers on the big red button. Are you seriously saying that only people who are atheist are fit to be Prime Minister and that anyone who has any faith at all can not be trusted? That's a pretty big group you're trying to exclude.

..I didn't vote for them and wouldn't have voted for them. Its got nothing to do with atheism and everything to do with joining a club (that's what a region is) that has whacky beliefs like homosexuals are sinful, if you feel you have to join that religion or can't bring yourself to leave it then you really need to evaluate your own mentality...I repeat it's got nothing to do in wether he believes in a god or not and everything to do with his presumption that he personally knows what God thinks or wants from us!!!

What makes you think that people of faith think they personally know what God thinks or wants from us? And, whether a God actually exists or not, what difference does it make if someone wants to something to or with us whether they are doing it because they believe it's the will of God or just because they want to. I've many homophobes who've never been anywhere near a church and quite a few LBGT people who quite regularly do.

This sounds to me like just another way to divide people in to 'us' and 'them' and then dismiss the others point of view as irrelevant.

.

Because all religions have beliefs in what God wants!. Christian Muslim, Hindu, Jewish..

Now if he'd said I strongly believe in God but I have no idea what he wants from us therefore I'll just be a highly spiritual person while leading the lib Dems, fine I can vote for that, however if as he says he's a devout Christian then that implies that he is following Christian doctrine and Christian doctrine knows what God wants because he wrote it down on some tablets.. Or did you forget?.

So yes I'll repeat to you as you failed to understand my original point, its got nothing to do with him believing in a god and everything to do with which club he chooses to represent that belief, that's personal choice that he chose and says much about his core beliefs both good and bad.

But it's not for me thank you

How the fuck so called self proclaimed Christians vote Tory is beyond me, its like they dismiss out of hand everything they're precious God actually told them to do... Well Jesus I know you said don't seek wealth or hold it but... Err I kinda like my holidays in Dubai watching formula 1.. so maybe I think you meant seek and hold as much wealth as possible while trampling on as many poor people as possible to get it?.

Yaaaaaaaaaay go me, I'm still a Jesus following Christian

If you see someone wearing sandals with socks then don't turn the other cheek and tell them it's just wrong.

It's usually Germans who are guilty of this.
