Absolutely delighted to see he has lost his seat.

His decision to increase tuition fees has come back to haunt him.

He was right to go into coalition but should have stuck to his guns on fees !

Theresa May and others have u turned on multiple occasions and you are fixated on one policy u-turn that happened at the time when the country had to do all it could to recover from the worst financial recession in 100 years.

Poor Old Cleggy reigned in Cameron on a lot of issues yet people who probably have benefitted from him being deputy PM back then still can't stop slagging him off over this one issue.

Very narrow minded imo

On question time he said he couldn't see a outcome or deal better than what we had, and hes probably right, tbh

Think it took Canada and Ukraine about 9 years each todo a trade deal with the eu. While we need todo a shit ton of deals which are horribly complex as fast as possible, and other countries will be able to strongarm us.

But yeah its odd how lib Dems got hammered but tories are fine

I was so happy to see the urban yorkshire seats go red.

But I felt bad when I saw his face. A friend lives in his seat and despite his flaws he was a good mp.

I think he was probably the most truthful MP in Westminster

A decent man by all accounts, who made a bad decision on the tuition fees issue but hardly deserves to have that be all that defines him.

I'm sure he has a lot to offer politics still, if he wants to.

"until his refusal to accept the brexit vote I always thought he was pretty good and 100 times better than fallon"

Fallon is the Conservative Defence Secretary.

There are plenty of people who don't accept the Brexit vote and why should they? Young people in this country put their faith in the older generation to do the right thing and instead the older generation believed the lies spread by the tax dodging extreme right wing press, Herr Farage and others. I think that the reason so many younger voters turned out at this election is because of the sense of betrayal from last year.

Nick Clegg is a genuinely decent guy and he says it as it is without looking to make scapegoats.

He was my local mp. Great guy but the coalition made him lose face with the students. Not surprised by a Labour gain here. Most of Sheffield were Labour.

Sorry to see him go. A politician who seems to have put what he thinks is the countries best interest before his own political fortunes. He has my respect.
