Lib Dems campaigned on a SINGLE topic, that was that they would be the party for remainers. After burning their supporters on the tuition fees, I would have thought partnering up with May and her hard Brexit would be political suicide.

He would never, ever take the party membership with him on another ill-fated marriage to the Tories, especially since they are comitted to a hard Brexit. |

Lid dems are the party to mitigate the worst tendencies of the tories. Realistically this is the best contribution they can make to Brexit now. |

He'd be a fool not to. The coalition government was an order of magnitude more successful than the last 2 years. Raising the personal allowance was a great achievement. Now it's time for the lib dems to reign in the hard brexit faction of the tory party. Fuck students, pay your own damn fees for your gender studies degree. |

Glad to see the SNP get a good kicking. "
More like a Conservative-DUP coalition.
Tim Farron's gamble on getting all the remain vote looks to have backfired on him spectacularly. |

How about we just cut gender studies down to a national class of 10, then take all those resources to increase nurse training capacity and STEM subjects. |

DUP are a pro Brexit party though. Lib dems are not and want to Remain. That difference in opinion between the tories and the lib dems would make a coalition between them unworkable. |

Agreed. University should be for training those who wish to become serious thinkers. Those who wish to become the next generation of researchers, developers, and wealth creators in some cases.
Wish we could have a German style system for technical skills training - eg, NHS training. But hey ho, I can dream. |

Whatever anyone thinks of Bojo he is a vote winner and popular with the public. I don't think the tories used him enough in their campaign. |

No he didn't. He said it's too early to say and it'd be a vote by vote basis. That is not a 'we will work with' that is a 'we will support when and where interests can be met'. |

"Tim Farron should be on his knees giving a blowbang to the Tory front bench begging for coalition, not ruling one out. I fucking hate the noble protest movement types. "
Probs just politics. Everyone has outlined an outright coalition with the two main parties. This is in part due to just too many conflicts of interests. However I imagine if it's neck and neck between cons and lab, farron will try to use his no coalition stance to have the other parties offer him the best deal. Of course this could backfire. |

Atleast with subjects like geography and history people could be teachers - or they can extrapolate skills into stuff like statistics, or handling large amount of information.
Sciences are always good. Same with maths. Languages are niche but always needed in the private and public sector.
There are only so many experts in gender studies one country needs. |

Maybe they'll presume that an out vote doesn't mean "yes we are right wing tories". |
