I wonder how accurate the Exit Poll will be? They got it massively wrong in 2015 and 2016 with Brexit.

I'm staying up for the Exit Poll then heading to bed. Nothing exciting happens until the early hours anyway ...

That is right too, it will show more who will win later on, lets see how right the polls will be.

Everyone watches the first result from Newcastle don't they?

For the first time in 30 years instead of saying up watching it and booking the day after off to catch up on sleep I;m off to bed. I'm genuinely too scared to watch. The best result (as a Labor voter) is a potential hung parliament and a Labout/SNP coalition, and that is a very loose use of the word best as it will be a disaster for the country it that happens.

The one thing that is certain is that whatever happens Britain will not be stronger nor more stable tomorrow than it was 2 minths ago

It's only an exit poll I'm still pretty confident the tories will get an overall majority when the real results come in. The exit poll underestimated the tory vote in 2015. If the exit poll is right then it looks like a conservative/DUP coalition will form a government.

Most analysis I've seen has said that whilst a Labour win would cause a short term drop the markets would welcome a softer brexit and it would be better in the long run.

I don't think the currency markets like the sound of a hung parliament though.

"The Conservatives normally rest their main case on economic competence and pragmatism. They lost that with their hard BREXIT policy. You can't argue Labour's policies are possibly bad for the economy while backing the single most destabilising economic policy for Britain ever.

Possibly people also heard the message that the Tories have borrowed more than any Labour government, all the while making everyone live through austerity.

Bang on "

That assumes that most people don't know the differences between debt and deficit. I think most swing voters actually do.

Wouldn't think so on the exit polls, but she will probably not be party leader at the next election. Assuming they have enough to make a government, expect her to be gone in year 3, after Brexit but in time to build up new candidate for next election.

I think Labour made a mistake not accepting the tactical vote options that other parties offered them. Local party members were threatened with expulsion or suspension for doing local deals.
