For the Labour supporters who think they have a chance of winning the election and that Labour would be good for the country, for workers and the poor? Shouldn't they be posting in the stories and fantasy section?

"Come on now..don't upset them...their still trying to get over Brexit and T rump."

I wanted brexit and I wanted trump to win over hillary.

but on this election I am all labour.

And a month ago I would have said they had zero chance but now I think its going to be close and im very much 50/50 that it could go either way...

so try not get overly cocky like some of the hilary supporters did and ended up with egg on their face as come the 8th of june that could be one of you.

corybn has led a far far better election campaign than may and that is fact and the narrowing of polls and corbyns raise in popularity proves that.

As a Brexit supporter then would you be happy with Corbyn and Labour keeping us in the single market and the customs union? Baring in mind that means accepting free movement of people from the EU, still under the jurisdiction of the European courts and unable to sign our own trade deals.

truthfully I have no idea how brexits going to play out for the UK but I have no faith in theresa may getting us anything good from it...I think corbyns calm manner approach has a better chance of getting somthing better from brexit than mays stubborn hard stance.

but the election isnt all about brexit its just part of it....when it comes to manifestos. .out of all the partys...the conservatives was the least appealing.

The strong and stable May who called an election because she was not strong enough to deal with a few dissenting voices has only become less stable as the day of the GE draws nearer..

I still doubt Corbyn will win but I also don't think she whatever the outcome can be viewed as anything like strong and stable by those in the EU with whom she will be negotiating against on behalf of all of us..

And that I don't think is a good thing..

Being objective, Corbyn has shown improvements in his media performances (with the main recent exception of the sky news one where he walked into the IRA trap). A manifesto promising to spend other people's money is always going to find support with a certain section of society. But you don't seem to be giving much weight to the absolutely dreadful performances of key cabinet people like dianne abbott and john MacDonell.

If you seriously think it's 50/50 then you should be placing every penny you can get your hands on and going down the bookies because the odds certainly state that the market does not believe it is that close.

There is also the equally dreadful Emily Thornberry factor who said Trident could be scrapped by Labour after a defence review should Labour win, even though it's in the Labour manifesto to keep trident. The Labour defence secretary had to smack Thornberry down, Labour are a divided party on Trident and Brexit and divided parties don't win elections.

The traditional polls are still giving Theresa May and the tories and healthy majority. There is only 1 poll saying hung Parliament and this in a new Yougov poll using a new untested and controversial polling method which has huge margins of error. I think the people constantly parroting this poll now really are clutching at straws.

This pretty much sums up every encounter I've seen with May and reporters:

http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/three-minutes-of-nothing-herald-reporter-reflects-on-pm-encounter/story-30363961-detail/story.html

The last few paras are priceless:

"She had and given me absolutely nothing. It was like a postmodern version of Radio 4's Just A Minute.

I pictured Nicholas Parsons in the chair: "The next topic is how Plymouth will be affected by Brexit, military cuts and transport meltdown. Theresa, you have three minutes to talk without clarity, candour or transparency. Your time starts now."

Strikes? You mean like the numerous rail strikes we've had in the past few years? Or the various NHS strikes we've had directly against the ludicrous plans of the Tories to break the NHS?

I dunno, my gut feeling is having someone like Corbyn who actually seems to have some empathy for some of these people might prevent the strikes in the first place.

“It’s a completely different experience to what it was four weeks ago. It’s made my job a hell of a lot harder. It’s a completely different experience. I’m pretty fucked off.

“People on the doorstep are telling me: ‘She’s going after pensioners, she doesn’t know what she’s doing, she doesn’t answer questions on the TV.’ I’ve switched from saying ‘vote for her’ to ‘vote for me’. It’s hard to understand how people in London who get paid a lot of money made such a clusterfuck."

Repeatedly? Theresa May was pretty much invisible during the EU referendum campaign, i think she made one appearance on the Andrew Marr show and that was about the entire contribution of hers to the Remain campaign. There is a key difference which you don't seem to have spotted. Theresa May has not been blowing the EU's trumpet and singing its praises for the last 30 to 40 years and saying how brilliant it all is, in comparison to Corbyn who went out of his way to paint himself as an anti EU figure for pretty much his whole career. He also ran his labour leadership campaign slamming the EU and saying how corrupt it was. Corbyn made his name on an anti EU ticket.

Theresa May on the other hand had been opposing the EU for several years as home secretary fighting the European courts to get terrorists and other criminals deported.

Going after pensioners!? That's the response to her being honest about a financial problem. I seriously hope there aren't that many voters who still believe in the money tree that can solve all their problems.

"The traditional polls are still giving Theresa May and the tories and healthy majority. There is only 1 poll saying hung Parliament and this in a new Yougov poll using a new untested and controversial polling method which has huge margins of error. I think the people constantly parroting this poll now really are clutching at straws. "

not an outlier anymore..... two traditional polls out in the more.... and in both the conservative lead is down to 5% in one... and 3% in the other....

just admit it.... wee bit scared now aren't you.... just a little....

Certainly getting closer....but the same polls had a hung parliament last time...and not even with Tories as largest party.

I remember staying up watching the election results..... exit polls started to show Torres as largest party was met by misbelief. Still waiting for Paddy Ashdown to eat his hat!

Then when actual results started coming in and a Tory majority started to show people still couldn't believe it....

They massively underestimated the Tory vote. Not saying it will happen again....but I'm not counting my chickens yet!

Not really, if the something-for-nothing crowd are big enough to wreck this country then i'll move my personal wealth to another country whilst they will be living in the greek economy 2.0

Fortunately i dont think the majority of voters are so stupid to look to the tooth fairy to fund their lifestlyes.

They always massively underestimate the Tory vote cos people don't like admitting that they vote for "The Nasty Party".

North West

The Conservatives are wholly reliant on former UKIP voters and this is why PM May keeps saying that this election is all about Brexit.

She knows that Kippers can almost smell their imagined Utopia and she knows that they also (wrongly) think that Brexit is a magic bullet that will solve all our country's problems. For this reason, she is playing to the Kippers who really could not give a shit about anything in the world other than Brexit.

The spanner in the works is going to be if a large enough percentage of Kippers are not as dim and small minded as many have made them out to be. It will only take a few to start thinking and realising that the future is not about how we trade with our close neighbours, but the sort of country that we want to live in.

"Come on now..don't upset them...their still trying to get over Brexit and T rump.

I thought paxman was a bit of a knob trying to have a good at corbyn for failing to get scrapping trident into the manifesto. The unions run Labour, not corbyn. Corbyn is finally getting a taste of the real world of leadership where his principles count for jack shit and he'll be no different to nick clegg and his tuition fees when the time comes. If it comes.

We already know Corbyn is a sell out when it comes to his principles. He opposed the EU his whole career then backed the Remain campaign as soon as he becomes Labour leader. He is a snivelling spineless sell out who I wouldn't trust to negotiate his way out of a paper bag never mind Brexit. "

Like our Remain voting PM or our remain voting Home Secretary or our remain voting Chancellor....principled one and all

Costa Blanca Spain...

More seriously though.

The Tories campaign has been a disaster. I still think they will win, god forbid the alternative, but whoever is responsible for the manifesto/campaign should never be allowed anywhere near politics again.

Should Corbyn actually win then they should be locked up in the Tower and the bloody key chucked in the Thames.

The brexiters and their retrotopia vision of Britain is much much worse than the anything the 70s had to offer .
