UKIP leader Paul Nuttall is to contest Boston and Skegness at the GE.

Big UKIP country but staunchly Conservative at General Elections

He already tried a Labour seat in Stoke so maybe trying a change of tactic to go for a Conservative seat this time instead. Ukip generally do well in coastal towns and Paul Nuttal will most likely go for the fishermen's vote in Boston and Skegness as Theresa May has been pretty quiet on getting back our fishing rights from the EU.

Good luck to him but I think the Conservatives are gonna win this general election by a landslide.

If he keeps this up maybe he can match Farage in number of failures at becoming an MP.

No fishing in Skegness and Boston is just a few small boats.

Boston and Skegness arguably is the most euroskeptic coastal town in the UK. Who knows Nuttal could pull off a surprise ukip win there but the Conservatives are going to take a lot of Ukip's vote away all over the country in this general election.

Nuttall has already been on sky news earlier today and he was talking a lot about returning the UK's fishing rights from the EU.

The reason why it's mainly tory is because it's basically a coastal retirement home.

As for fishing I think people need to drop it.

Why the fuck do we want a return to a mass industry which is no longer suitable for most people in the UK.

In addition our fish stocks are still recovering, if you think sensibly you'll realise that once we have the waters 'back' or in otherwords, once we come up with a good cost effective policy to patrol them, people and fishing fleets will want to fish more and more heavily.

Then we'll just end up back in the 60's, 70's and 80's with declining and decimated stocks.

The best hope for coastal towns is someone with an understanding of modern aquaculture, renewable energy, and tourism to come in and lay down a plan which creates new jobs and attracts wealthier people out of cities to the coast.

I really think Paul Nuttal has lost the plot.

When you consider that UKIP's entire existence has been about securing our withdrawal from the European Union, he has been talking about making sure the Conservatives don't get a massive majority.

So he intends to do everything possible to prevent the only party actually willing and able to deliver on the referendum of securing a large enough mandate to get on and deliver on what UKIP have been wanting for years.

Think he belongs in the funny farm.

Nah just politics. Everyone has a certain world view and offer popular policies so they have a mandate to try and slip through less popular policies and their world view.

Ukip is loosing the plot though - they have gone from immigration which of anyone who is a benifit to the nation, to ban the burqua. Clearly we can see their world view is a bit more anglocentric than they would have liked to admit openly.

What impact would he have on this?

Well ukip have already said they will not stand in a number of Tory seats to help the Conservatives out. Theresa May will get a majority but if people like Paul Nuttal are elected for ukip it may make Theresa May less likely to backslide on what she has previously said regarding Brexit.

Nuttall has the square root of f*** all chance of winning. The UKIP vote will collapse as the PM continues to make a play for the UKIP vote.....theyre history

This is Nuttall's sixth attempt to try and become an MP.

He will not win.

I wonder how much of UKIP's budget is spent on removal costs for him?

Agree with the rest - they'll continue after the election with 0 MPs. Untruths that he's been found out for have discredited him. He and the party should leave now, job done.
