Tim Farron, Lib-Dem leader, is continually pressed for his LGBT views. He continually "fudges" around the issue.
Farron is a convert to "evangelical Christianity", and certain aspects of homosexuality would be against those beliefs.
Would members of the LGBT community vote for him? |

Not a hope in (non-existent) hell!!
I'm fine with politicians being religious but in no way should their outdated beliefs affect their policy or the people they would rule as a winning party.
This is why I look at American and other world leaders and feel so sorry for their population. |

"Surely though he is still entitled to his own belief ? Or is it ok for some but not ok for others ?"
He is entitled to any belief he likes and believes in. What I and many others don't get, is his apparent refusal to spell out clearly what those beliefs are. |

I think it is an excellent idea to show the voting records on LGBT issues of Tim Farron and Theresa May side by side, if those saying they wouldn't vote for him because he is homophobic would care to research and put them up, to help me decide? |

He's been asked if he thinks being gay is a sin, and he said 'No'. What more do you want?

It's not good enough! I demand people who believe in religions such as Christianity and muslimness should change it at the whim of the liberals! I can only trust people who change their beliefs to get more votes! |

actually.... he didn't fudge the issue anymore...
because if you saw the general election debate, he was asked by tory mp nigel evans, who is opening gay, if he thought that someone being gay was a sin?
and farron answered....." no i don't!"
another smear then? |

I seek to smear no one. I'm trying to get the full story here, as we are bound to hear a lot more about it in the coming weeks.
I merely asked as he got very defensive and agitated on the Peston programme when asked about it. You dig deeper and relevant gay rights campaigners such as Peter Tatchell and Sue Perkins have had a lot of difference of opinions with him. |

And yet he's never said or done anything homophobic. He votes for and campaigns for gay rights. This is all purely because of his faith. The media isn't going after any other religious politicians demanding to know their opinion again and again. I might be agitated too in that position. |

Then the answer to the question put is "no".
Let's hope the more dubious media put it to bed now but somehow I doubt it. |
