Your not supposed to discus religion or politics if you don't want an argument

And saying a conservative vote is a tactical thing rather than vote UKIP?

UKIP are like really thick NAZIs who don't realise the whole point of NAZIism was one European super power.

If you want the IRA supporting commies in vote labour.

If you want to forever be a corporate wage slave vote conservative.

If you need a padded helmet when you leave the house and help crossing the road vote UKIP.

Labour overspending is a myth created by the media. The evidence is available to you, since you are clearly using the internet.

The IMF, OECD, Treasury, ONS, OBR and IFS all have reports to show that Labour did not overspend and cause debt.

It's that deficit/debt thing again..... If you start with a whopping deficit then debt will keep climbing. It's like getting paid £1500 a month but having minimum debt repayments of £1800 a month. Even if you pay out all of your £1500 salary to service the debt, interest charges ensure it will keep growing. And unlike someone with personal debt, Governments can't go to Stepchange and get interest payments frozen....

Suggest you check again..

Every recent labour government has come in to a stable economy and for all intents wrecked it with absolutely nothing to show for it except a British industry and economy in a worse state for their governance.

Fact.. economic growth does not lie.

Spend means nothing if the gdp doesn't go up with it.. Fortunately the conservatives have a good track record of growth.. Unfortunately the same is cannot be said of labour..

The conservatives are hated because they had the balls to get rid of loss making services with privatisation where the management has a reason to make the business profitable..

Unpopular but common sense..

Why do you say 'check again' and then go on to describe a different metric? I was responding to a comment on spiralling debt. I responded that they are incorrect in their assumptions, and correct them. Another poster put a link to actual figures. You then talk about GDP? I don't get it.

Sorry, just to get back to this. As I think lying on public forums like this isn't helpful.

Since 1960 we have had a positive growth in GDP every single year except the following:

1974 - Labour

1975 - Labour

1980 - Cons

1981 - Cons

1991 - Cons

2008 - Labour

2009 - Labour

So, especially considering they mainly coincided with major financial crises (well the last one certainly was, the '74 one was oil price / stock market crash), I think it is a bit disingenuous to say the least that conservatives have a better track record than labour.

It will be very interesting to see how the manifestos compare to the 2015 ones. Considering May is mainly doing this in order to get out of the commitments from the 2015 manifesto and so that she has a 'mandate' (despite saying she already had one). It will be interesting to see what they all say. So much has changed politically in two years, and I have a feeling that any party could say whatever they wanted in their manifestos and have no qualms in walking away from them the second they are elected.

Problem is though if you cut and strip away at a building, don't pay enough money for the correct repairs, let the core foundations and structures weaken...you eventually end up with an even bigger bill to pay out and it sets the whole thing off again.

I dont want a government which overspends, but we need one which will invest in the country and its citizens so britain doesnt fall behind in the world.

I don't see advanced planning and investment coming from the tories.

Self employed might be a tad more nervous after Hammond's latest quote about the need to raise taxes. 2nd time lucky.

That's not exactly what he said though!

Phillip Hammond is looking for more "flexibility " regarding tax.

The only leader so far pledged to tax increases is Jeremy Corbyn.

The Tories stupidly pledged not to increase income tax, VAT and national insurance last time. In times of economic uncertainty it does not make sense to tie the chancellor's hands like that. Therefore this pledge will go.

It is NOT, as some cretins have stated, the same as saying they WILL go up.

Why say it if he doesn't need to ? They need to raise more tax revenues from the self employed and now the Tories have the opportunity to rewrite the manifesto to justify it.

Agreed. If theres a need to, or if they feel as though they should, just say you are putting it on the table so people can vote on the issue.

So you mean Corbyn is the only one to say what he means rather than cloaking it in euphemisms? If you think 'flexibility' means 'we might not necessarily put it up' then you are very nieve

If he didn't say it, wouldn't he be tying his hands for another 5 years. Tax changes are entirely possible under any government.
