I'm sure that there will be TV debates, Mrs May has said that she will concentrate on door to door campaigning.
Do these debates actually sway voter's minds, or are they just good entertainment for the TV companies? |

Yeah coz them TV debates have done wonders for Yankee politics, the class of the candidates and the policy details are amazing and ooo the outfits were dazzling .
Lets get as far away as possible from anything remotely American, its credibility is wank, its politics are quite possibly more corrupt than Afghanistan and its a god awful shit hole full of bigots and whack jobs!.
Yeehaw not for me ta |

"This election could well see the explosion of the digital and social media way of interacting with voters.
I find the TV debates to be poor, full of hype and little substance."
... but it will still reach more people than door to door will......
in the last election the only parties that came round to my door were the BNP and Greens..... |

TV debates are bullshit. Just vote for who you want, not who looks best on camera.
FFS, we had 5 years of a coalition government because Nick Clegg seemed plausible |

Tv debates would be good if they were set out like an actual debate.
Also if those used it as a chance to explain and explore their view point and ideas for the future. Rather than allowing them to use it as an oppertunity to just hurl assults at the other candidate/parties. |

I'd like to have seen the look on the BNP candidates face when you opened the door. |

Tv debates total waste of time, I think she should not pander to the media circus just so they can get good viewing figures.
We all know who and what we would want to vote for so let's just do it.
I can't bear the thought of seeing Dian bloody Abbotts face on the tv |

Great idea. Let's shut down debate, ensure our leaderene isn't open to,scrutiny and let the nonsensical witterings of the D Mail etc determine what people will do. She wants to be PM, she needs to debate others who want the job. Maybe it's because she is a crap debater, who comes across as an utter arse, that has led her advisers to tell her to keep off tv. |
