Nurses consider whether to strike over low pay

When will society value people appropriately?
I get paid I'd imagine significantly more than a nurse of similar experience would but believe my job is much less physically and emotionally demanding.
They shouldn't be put in the situation where they need to be considering striking to get a 'fair' pay settlement.

It's the fact that they have had below average pay rises, so in real terms, a pay cut.
Many nurses that I know are quite well paid but a rise of 1% of £30k isn't the same as a rise of 1% of £80k.
Independent pay review sets the rise but just how independent are they? |

It's the price of the required osterity measures the UK has had to be subjected to which any gains has now been mainly nullified even after so much pain for so many. |

"required" austerity measures, while reducing taxation for the richest in society. It's only the less well off that seemed to have paid for austerity. |

Thats a complete myth, Sweden is near broke, Norway has huge amounts of oil and Finland is fucking terrible, Denmark doesn't do to bad but the one thing about them all is practically nobody lives there, if you combine all the population of every Scandinavian county you dont even have England. If you could point me to a country with a hundred million population that uses the Scandinavian system ill think my thoughts |

That is right and they have to find skilled peeps to fill in the positions at nhs to replace them. |

This is a problem woth nearly all areas of employment. Employers don't give a monkeys about anything but profit and nothing else . Tbeir attitude is If they can save money by getting foreign, pre trained and experienced employees then why train brits? |

Once again we have this situation.....
We will get the usual moral outrage from Govt designed to pressure the nurses to desist from striking.It will get the press and usual mouthpieces to express this as an attack on the sick and elderly...Meanwhile the bankers and other financial institutions who got us in this mess are paying themselves bonuses of double a nurses salary on average...Yes we know where the real moral outrage should be directed  |
