Today I'm working in social as a contractor for a RSL installing electrical fire suites. Does that make me a benefit claimant, or does it mean I'm a contractor in social housing ?

It's a bit ignorant to think everyone who lives in social housing is on benefits isn't it?

Nope your wrong, about 2.5 years free lance training meter installers

Quiet month April so fitting a few fires keeps the wolves from the door, also it's nice double bubble money 4 days cancellations so a few fires is even nicer. Paid twice

It's not a rip off, if somebody books me then cancels at short notice I have contract in place that both sides agree to, it's called business terms and conditions

If somebody else then wants my services I have every right to charge for the service I deliver.

Same as if they cancel 2 weeks in advance I get nowt, I don't complain, it's the way the contract works

Sometimes I win sometimes I loose....

This week will be break even, last week was double bubble, swings roundabouts.

Classy...

I have never known anyone with a worse understanding of UK statutory benefits than you. You think that walking inside social housing might qualify you for benefits, and you think that the local authority pays utility bills for foreigners.

I'm sure you have all of necessary competencies to fulfill the requirements and I shall be looking for new work as you take over my contacts and contracts

And I don't know everything about the training world as it covers a huge area, lots of skills and has people with lots of people with different wishes and aspirations.

But if you can help me to progress in my field and grow my income I won't say no.

I'm also not an expert on auctions but I do nicely thank you, from the properties I buy and renovate at them.

I can take it, unlike some on here, who run to teacher the moment their egos get bruised

I once had to deal with group of bully's at school, the biggest bully shat his trousers when I dragged him in front of a bus, funnily enough he didn't think that was fair, but was happy to intimidate when he had his mates around him. Bully's are cowards who move in groups, smack the gob shite and they soon scatter.

Any way Britains benefit tenants has just started on channel 4. Let's see the scum complain on this programme

"on his home planet he has spent 30 years of his working life teaching people how to install electric meters ... the social housing thing is his job in one of a number of parallel dimensions

Nope your wrong, about 2.5 years free lance training meter installers

Quiet month April so fitting a few fires keeps the wolves from the door, also it's nice double bubble money 4 days cancellations so a few fires is even nicer. Paid twice

I thought you were an expert on training...2.5 years training meter installers doesnt make you an expert on all things to do with the training world

So if you acknowledge that you dont know a great deal about training, why were you telling me on another thread that you did when i pointed out that your argument regarding fundign was fatally flawed?

Go on tell me your knowledge and experience in the training field

What qualifications if any do you possess as a trainer

D32,34 A1 V1 PTTLS4 Ex V

How many training packages have you developed

I have 2.5 years as an independent trainer, but many more working for Footsie 100 company.

So again just what qualifications and experience do you possess

Footsie 100!

Isn't that how it's pronounced for simplicity?

And my shares have gone up10% since Brexit result

So's the value of my flat in Spain if converted to pounds "

Seems simplicity can't challange real facts, nice to hear your assets have increased in value, spoken like a true capitalist, or even realist

You don’t “pronounce” anything on a forum, you write it, in this case, incorrectly.

This is the banter post I assume. Footsie is an awesome term. Will use that at work tomorrow.

I saved thousands on my student loan. Took advantage of paying it quickly.

To the OP. You answered your question in your first sentence. I was contracted ...

Did someone think otherwise? This doesn't come down to benefits. Doesn't it come down to property management and law?

For some in here contracts don't count, some times I win with my contracts dime times I loose, it's the nature of the beast. But I have nothing to be ashamed of by increasing my take with in the rules

Footsie 100! it's nice to see that

even the idle wake up at some point in

Good morning to ya! Xx

Who are you calling idle? You don’t know what I do.

So just what do you, as you are mighty quick to cast aspersions on any body else's skills experience or knowledge of any thing.

Classy!.,

I don't cast aspersions on anyone, but if someone constantly posts contradictions to what they say they do then I will ask them to clarify.

Strange how you are unable to clarify anything in regards to yourself, just how do you make a living. Or is that too embarrassing to answer.

Just what skills and qualifications do you have apart from how to make a dam good and profitable benefit claim

What makes you think I claim benefits?

I bet your a fire man

And you think firemen claim benefits?

I wouldn't have thought so, but hey you never know, I'm sure you can advise "

I can tell you there is no specific benefit that is universal to all firemen.

Did someone think otherwise? This doesn't come down to benefits. Doesn't it come down to property management and law?

Respect to you for paying your loan back quickly, our kids take the view that' it's a very very cheap loan which has enabled them to get a good a career

And there's always the bank of mum and dad for when they want a little extra in life"

University has to be an investment. Especially with the 300% increase. I only owed 15k but new students will owe 30k+. The government are making universities an elite again. Or making people poorer.

Nobody forces any body to attend uni

Personally I think lots of what's on offer is very over rated, I'd like to see the return of polytechnics

Im a huge believer in well run apprenticeships and also decent life skills

Also it's not government Making you poorer, it's a life choice to attend uni, may be few less drinks in the bar, and courses which are actually condensed. I can't believe that mature people need about 14 weeks off in a year. It's dragged out for too long. Lecturers need to come in the real world and do a decent years work.

Also I don't get any help with my re-assessments which I must complete on a 5 yearly basis, or go with out an income, so why are uni students so different

If education is for all, all education should be free including the 5 yearly re-assesment of every Gas Safe engineer and Sparkie.

Luckily I don't need the pre-assesment coaching so it's only about a week for me to sit my quals, many guys struggle and would need at least 3 weeks in total

University is not for all. It should be for those going to further education. Doctors, Engineers, Science. It's a very intense 3 years. In 10 minutes they cover 2 years worth of mathematics. I'm talking about the main degrees.

I'm contesting that it's for the rich only. Having a degree gives you advantages in certain industries. Why should the rich get a first pick at those jobs.

In conclusion, university should be research driven. Further education for the industry you're going into.

Finally, it's choice, but you don't truly have free choice. There is peer pressure, government processes in place which restrict your choice.

I can be certified every so often too. Going to uni does not exclude you from extra charges or training. You're limping all careers from uni into o e a d comparing it again at your own. It's like comparing apples with oranges.

Nope I just get fed up with peeps saying how unfair uni fees are

Every 5 years would cost me about 5k if I actually need training to resist my accreditation, luckily I don't

But I feel for those who do

Or kids left uni bout 2 years ago,and have no complaint on the fees, and let's be honest the repayment rate is more than reasonable. And as for those who say you can't buy a house because of uni fees, that's also wrong as they bought a house last year and both of them have fees to pay as well

I have to pay 300 pounds a month. I'm on the lower interest rate and borrowed much less. Is that affordable? Sure since it doesn't come out your wage you can live with it.

I bought a house too but I moved countries to make it possible. They were going 103% mortgages. No deposit but a loan for the fees and repairs.

Banks made it harder. Not impossible.

"

Every 5 years would cost me about 5k if I actually need training to resist my accreditation, luckily I don't

"

So it costs you less than £5k every 5 years, or the equivalent of less than £1k per year, and you are comparing that to £10k+ per year.

Also you can work full time during those years, most university students can't work full time, so in addition to their uni fees, they are losing 3 years of earning potential.

This is only looking at a bachelors degree, in many industries, even in the armed forces, a bachelors degree is not enough to get to the top. In the Army for instance its expected that you will have your first degree by Captain, and second degree by Lt Col. So in a lot of industries that 2nd or sometimes even third degree is more fees, and more time out of the job market.

So then compare that again to less than £1k per year, and which one works out cheaper?

Every 5 years would cost me about 5k if I actually need training to resist my accreditation, luckily I don't

So it costs you less than £5k every 5 years, or the equivalent of less than £1k per year, and you are comparing that to £10k+ per year.

Also you can work full time during those years, most university students can't work full time, so in addition to their uni fees, they are losing 3 years of earning potential.

I'm sure that those in the military have there degrees sponsored for them, just like my sister did who was in the RAF and my son who is at Brize and neither of them lost any income

When as a younger guy I was doing my apprenticeship I managed to work most nights and weekends to top up my meagre income, therefore I'm sure most uni students could supplement their grants etc by working also.

Most engineers who are resorting their accreditation are also family guys and if self employed they will also loose 3 weeks pay every 5 years so your 5k cost now has 5k in lost income

10k every 5 years plus the 2 years it took to qualify so the balance is quite similar

If you want to go to uni, you should pay for it in the same way rest of society has to pay for training etc

I use to have a house with 5 uni students in it, non of them ever seemed to be short of a bob or 2 for beers and a night out

Bloody hell the bars near Manchester uni are full of students having a good time

Our kids had a gorgeous new apartment in Manchester when studying there

Benefits the scourge of the UK..., used by the idle to avoid work... many of whom are soap dodging scum

Worked a house the other day, she asked me to cut her carpet around the surround, there was no way I was touching her shitty carpet for her.

Wipe your feet, yeah on the way out before I get in my car, then went home for a wash

no ... cash .... like what you get when you take your giro the the post office .... or when you're in the andaman archpeligo surfing an offshore reef it's what you draw from your international post office account after your mate has paid your giro straight into your account for you .... it's even better in La Linea, just walk to the post office in Gib, pick your cash up then go for a pint in the monkey tavern

So even though you previously said it was less than £5k, it's now £5k and they are earning £86k a year so they lose £5k in income in three weeks.

That still comes to the equivalent of £2k a year, comparing that to £10k+ a year, plus 3 years of lost wages, and that's just for the bachelors, even more for masters and PhD etc.

I said it was less than 5k for those who resist with out any training

I thought you believed in fairness and education for all

And you've not allowed for holidays lost time etc that most self employed people have to factor in

Also deduct a van tools insurance fuel

And a tax bill at the end of the year which all eats in to the income of the self employed

And if your lucky some money put aside for a pension

"Some families have never worked

Grand father, father, son"

this is a lie. no families exist where 3 generations have never worked.

It is not hard to see the appeal, for the right, of stories about "Shameless estates". The coalition's unprecedented benefit cuts require a justification, and the idea that welfare consigns whole communities to the scrapheap strengthens the case for drastic action. Sketching a feral underclass, not moored in ordinary morals or everyday practices such as working, also creates useful political distance between the mainstream and the marginalised, who face the deepest cuts. But for the British left too, so often weirdly nostalgic, there is a certain appeal in tales of hope having been extinguished across swaths of modern society.

The "never-worked families" hypothesis is convenient for ministers and alarmist columnists, but is it in any way true? Important new work from the authoritative CMPO thinktank at Bristol University explores how disadvantage trickles down the generations – but also takes a cool look at the facts. Using the best official data, the research confirms worklessness is a major problem: in 3.7m working-age households, 18% of the total, nobody has a job. But two-generational worklessness is far rarer – workless parents and grown-up children are found together in only 0.9% of households. As for homes with two generations that have never worked, the fraction drops further, to less than 0.1% of the total. Of course there will be some "never-worked" families where children have flown the nest, but the little data available suggests these, too, are uncommon.

The truly double-generation long-term unemployed family is, then, a rare species. As for the politicians' "third-generation" perma-idlers, these are on the critically endangered list – if not entirely fictional. The Joseph Rowntree Foundation set out to identify and investigate 20 such "never-worked" families in deprived Glasgow and Teesside, but it found not a single one. The reality is not permanent idleness, but permanent insecurity. Yes, there are individuals who give up on the jobs market, but most have relatives who flip between low pay and unemployment. It is a complex picture – tough to caricature and tougher to address. But it has the merit of being true.

the daily mail probably has found some though.
