So less than 100 days into scroutus 45 we have Russia and Iran (both nuclear powers) telling the US that if they attack Syria's legitimate government again they will respond with force...

Hows that for making America great again?

Worryingly close. Boris backs out of a meeting in Russia and May proclaims her support for Trump. The world has gone utterly fucking mad.

You might be looking at the wrong part of the world for WWIII, Trump has just sent a carrier battle group toward N Korea.

Too close

people might recall me supporting trump in the run up to the election.

Despite everything he was saying there was one thing that he said that made me back him and that was he wanted a closer relationship with russia, he wanted to focus on america amd stop interfering in the middle east and policing the world.

he always tweeted against any action in syria when obama was president.

This past week hes gone against everything he had said...its almost like the deep state has got to him.

only a week ago he was happy for syria to choose their own leader and assad can stay.

Im not american but I can only assume the americans that supported trump bexause he seemed so anti war and interference around the world must feel very betrayed right now.

its certainly a head scratcher and I have no idea what the outcome of this is going to be.

cant believe we are supporting this....I think countries need to come to the support of russia and say enoughs enough, we are tired of america putting us on brink of another war.

only this time its going up against a nuclear power which doesnt bode well for anyone.

.

Because theyve been invited by the legitimate government of Syria (Assad) to help them bomb the fuck out of the "terrorists" that are attacking Syria.

Thats the official line, its extremely complicated and not one i want to get involved with about the intricacies of rights and wrongs.

I dont think anyone is happy about Russia bombing Syria or Assad bombing Syria or terrorists bombing Syria but one thing we can be sure of is we dont need more people bombing Syria. Its already got enough

I wouldn't worry about Iran. The moment they launched anything they would be incinerated. The spy satellites are all trained on Iran to detect a launch.Putin is just sabre rattling and Trump well he knows a show of force plays well at home and is a welcome distraction from his alleged conection with putin. Its a win win for Trump. We are a million miles from Armageddon its just politics.

Sorry, but I think that you are wrong. Trump is a narcissist and he has just been roundly applauded for his action against Syria. Such adulation is only likely to embolden him.

russia are bombing isis/rebels based inside of syria invited by the democraticly elected government.

the US bombed the syrians that are part of the government and fighting isis.

We the west applauded him for it and supported him...there for we just helped isis.

This whole chemical weapons thing is a total false flag (until I see real evidence from an investigation saying otherwise).

The white helmets wasnt even wearing masks or gloves.

isn't is convenient for the US that this chemical attack just happened to happen the same day the US bombed irag with over 300 deaths and on that death count was many women and children....and yet that news got well and truly shoved under the carpet.

The whole of the west should pull out that includes the US the UK and everyone except the Russians as they were asked by the Syrian government to help out.

It's not our country and not our place to say or do anything it's theirs.

It's up to them to evolve and come to a point where they either start getting along or wipe each other out.

It's all about the bottom line; money, there's a shit lot of money in firing missiles that cost up to £1 million each and even more money in full blown war fs.

During the campaign I never got the impression that he was anti-war - quite the contrary in fact.

I was always concerned that if he got elected he would start WW3

The "other rebel groups" are ones who have chosen an affiliation with Al-Qaeda over so called ISIS, or they prefer their own salafist ideology.

There are no moderate opposition forces only degrees of barbarous ones. For anyone who has watched what has happened in the Middle East for the last 15 years, it is not a difficult thought process to see what will probably happen if/when Assad is removed.

.

I agree with you entirely.

I'd also add that although Assad is bad hes not that bad, you didnt get many Syrian refugees for the last 25 years while he was in charge, it was a relatively stable secular country, it enjoyed relatively good standards and relatively good livelihoods.

What happened was a drought drive rural Syrian farmers into the urban areas for work, a genuine feeling for change was then hijacked by various islamic groups (many of which have been trained in Jordan by the CIA) into violent conflicts.

This isnt a civil war, its a terrorist coup, there isnt one viable group fighting who could offer any better stability than Assad, the West is trying to drive regime change so that it can turn into one giant fucking mess like Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt..

The public seem to be learning lessons, we no longer believe our own governments

Return my library books and pay the fines? Not just yet! My fab profile has shifted focus. Ladies who enjoy hunting and camping seem far more attractive. I used to avoid women with keen knife skills after the whole bobbit thing... I used to lose interest when I heard that my date lived in her mother's basement, now I ask how far underground the basement is, where is fresh air supplied from.... and what does her mother looks like...

LoL!

Years ago I attended a lecture given by a US general on the projected outcome of an unrestricted escalation of hostilities between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. There was a question and answer session at the end where one member of the audience asked what would happen if a nuclear device was detonated over Manhattan Island. I will never forget the answer...

This general said (with a totally strait face) "I can safely say, it would ruin someones entire day".

The older I get the more I appreciate that mans brand of gallows humour.
