Single market though. Just like the Swiss.
And it's kind of the single market we need - and mid and high skilled persons. |

Ummmm... they said they are looking for somewhere to start their business and they need the single market and access to skilled labour. Why would 'there are no jobs to be had in Spain' be a concern? If anything surely it would be a plus point for them if they are looking to hire?

Hence why we are looking at spain - we are setting up the business if you bothered to read.
Low rent, low property prices, a government keen to attract and retain sustainable modern businesses, and a fairly well educated population. Oh and the infrastructure in places like Madrid and Barcelona fr biotech and bioinformatics is growing... |

Yup
tbh free movement of labour is a bonus but not necessary. What is needed is the single market and customs union for us to get standardised products and resources in, then export freely and effectively. |

Who says we are selling in spain? You really don't get the single market thing do you.
But actually there are plenty of buyers in spain.Plenty of universities wanting local producers to handle with data and advanced manufacturing, plenty of private health centres - oh and all those wealthy expats from norway, sweden, denmark, germany and the uk - especially the uk, need a middle man to handle private health information. |

David Cameron and George Osborne were the new Guy Fawkes for the modern era. They wanted to keep the UK in an undemocratic European union, which would have incrementally taken away more power and sovereignty from our parliamentary democracy in Westminster, which would have ultimately destroyed UK parliament and made it obsolete. In that sense they are no different to Guy Fawkes and are guilty of Treason. |

I tried. My partners and I are now looking at heading off to Norway, the Netherlands, or Spain to start up our business.
Good luck in Spain, it's bust, that's why so many young Spanish are working in the premiers, stop and talk with them. They will tell you that there are no jobs to be had in Spain

No I'm quite serious, I've been toying around with the idea of starting up my own company for a while now after working in the sector.
I quite like the idea of trying to find the most beneficial location to start and playing a part in a company which innovates and invests in young people. |

I said nothing about them doing well. A lot aren't, some are just getting along, and some are doing well from the EU.
I'm just pointing out that in the countries where unemployment is high or investment is low, they are particularly keep to attract and retain business. Good news for a lot of entrepreneur types. |

All EU Directives and Regulations are legally binding on all member nations.
These run into the tens of thousands.
There is also plenty of secondary legislation and acts.
It should be pointed out that the UK has contributed to some of this legislation. |

Right, but (correct me if I'm wrong) as far as I know, it doesn't become law in the UK until a UK bill is passed regarding it. Ie. the EU come out with directives and then the individual member nations write them into their law and pass them as bills.

Actually I just checked. There are two different things 'directives' an 'regulations'. Directives follow the process above. ie. the actual implementation of the directive is up to local law. Regulations require no local act and are immediately enforceable across all member nations.

The good thing is that article 50 is revocable and probably unilaterally revocable at that.
Bit of extra pressure on the three amigos with the negotiations there.
I hope they can adopt a more decent strategy than one week after a terrorist attack on our own soil to threaten not to warn of one on another country. Or using ordinary hardworking people with the gumption to try and make a life in another country as bargaining chips |

All that was said was it could have been sorted out in 5 mins around a table, each side giving an assurance of the rights of expats from bother sides.
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me! Or would you have been happy for the UK to gatantee the rights of EU migrants currently here and the the EU say after the fact "actually we require all of you're expats to relocate back to the UK ? |

Actually i no longer recognise parts of my Country.
The Proud Nation that gave shelter to the Hugonuts gave Birth to Thomas Pain sancuary to Jewish Children and Stood Alone against the might of the Luftwaffa!
The Nation that gave the World Trade unions and the concept that health care was a right of all people and not just the Rich!
A Nation who in recognising the misdeads of its Colonial past created the most Tolarent Multi Cultural Society perhaps in the World.
A Nation where the peoples of the world wished to settle work and pay tax to keep this great nation moving forward.
A Nation that was bold outward looking and not afraid of its own shadow!
That is the Britian of World Power and Status! A Nation to be proud of and if neccesary fight to Defend.
Now I fear we have become a Nation of petty vindictive little scardy cats fearful of anyone in our mitst that may look or sound different to a black and white Gor Blymey Govner hows your Father B movie!
I dispair! |
