On the upside he'll create more green voters and push the mankind closer to the precipice and only at that point will we change direction.

I will judge Donald Trump on his record after 4 years. The USA has many secret patents in secret technologies (estimated between 2000 and 5000), many of which could be to do with alternative forms of energy (alternative clean energies). Historically these secret patents have been released to the public at a rate of 0.5% per year by the US government for the past few decades but Trump wants to dramatically increase this. When you listen to his speeches during election campaign and his inauguration speech he repeatedly said he will be the greatest jobs creator president the world has ever seen. So if some of these secret patents and technologies become mainstream it could lead to a massive manufacturing boom in the USA for these new technologies products and Donald Trump could well be the greatest jobs creator President the world has ever seen. If some of these new technologies are to do with clean energy then it could be the beginning of the end for fossil fuels as we know it. It could also be why Trump is getting such a backlash from US and worldwide governments/media/business because the world is run on an oil based economic model who all the powerful elite have a hand in and Trump could be a threat to that if he gets his way.

Umm

I don't get it. What am I missing here?

If you think Trump might have secret patents to do with clean alternative fuels then why is he surrounded by a bunch of coal miners signing an exec order to reduce the environmental obligations of the coal industry?

And besides that... you still believe what he said during his campaign? He has backtracked on virtually every promise he made. He even tried to claim last week that he never claimed the repealing the ACA would be easy and that he never claimed he'd get it done straight away. Both things he repeatedly said whilst campaigning.

Did you see the Alex Jones/Info Wars where he was talking about the follow up to the Alien film Prometheus? He seemed to think that "liberals" believe that that was out earth was created, by aliens dropping their black goo into a river. Those crazy liberals!

There is an old saying, he who has the last laugh, laughs loudest. I was laughed at when I first said on here a few years ago Britain would vote to leave the EU and again I was laughed at when I said on here at the start of the USA presidential primaries Trump would win the primaries and then go on to win the Presidency itself. So you may mock and laugh all you like, just remember he who laughs last laughs loudest and believe me i did laugh loud when Brexit won and Trump won. I'll judge Trump on his record after 4 years and we shall see what develops during that time.

There's a bit of a difference between

a) picking the winner in a two horse

race, and

b) knowing details of secret magic super technology that will save the world (despite Trump giving all the outward signs to the world that he is going to focus on giving support to traditional fossil fuels)

So really, 'they got the election right!' is irrelevant.

Or perhaps he personally owns Alaska and wants it to warm up more quickly

While the imaginary clean energy alex jones and centaur believes in is convienent distraction from reality here is Trumps plan.

Toss out and rewrite the EPA’s Clean Power Plan, which aims to cut CO2 pollution from coal-fired power plants, as well as another rule intended to make new power plants cleaner.

End a moratorium on the leasing of federal land to coal-mining companies.

Roll back a rule that would curb methane emissions from oil and gas operations on public lands.

Rewrite a rule that would more closely regulate fracking on federal lands.

Step back from accounting for the full economic cost of climate change (aka the social cost of carbon) when making decisions.

Reverse an order that called for federal agencies to consider climate change when writing environmental impact statements for projects.

Review all federal rules to find any that stymie energy production.

I think it's just waste of time and energy trying to explain climate change, and the need for transparent clean energy research and development to those who voted for trump and in some cases brexit.

Many don't believe it is real or an issue and those who might don't see it a big generations issue t tackle.

For them it's more about "muh old jobs", "but muh nation", "muh national pride", "how come skilled workers get better pay...muh, muh entitlement."

Well looks like the amendment Trump wanted (to pay for his wall) to the current budget being negotiated will not be included. I guess the GOP see is as too risky to be included before their April 28 deadline to get the budget approved.

I dont bother changing peoples minds on climate change. Its not up for debate its reality. This shouldn't stop people discussing it on the forum. They climate deniers wish to silence it.

Regarding the issue being a generational thing. If not our generation then who?

I was talking about this today with some of my colleagues. We reckon that Trump will push backwards on Green initiatives whilst the rest of the world continues forwards and if he does a full term, there will be a big correction thereafter.

Rural America is prime for Green energy initiatives. Once you get past the inner suburb belts of the cities, the lots on which houses are built just get bigger and bigger. Wind turbines and solar could easily be incorporated onto existing homes and lots because there is just so much space.

After four years of being held back, 2020 could well be the start of a real Green revolution in the United States.

That would be interesting, that's one of the big differences between business and politics, a former employee just gets written off as disgruntled and doesn't have a platform to speak out, in politics you're given a senate hearing. I think some major body blows to Trump will come from those who were in the inner circle, then left.

I am a conspiracy theorist and this is a common theme in conspiracy right now...Trump is some kind of man of the people who will work only for the people. 2 months in and i can't believe this meme still lives. The mental gymnastics needed to reach that conclusion are olympic gold medal level.

Please just answer this. What indication do you have that any of what you said above is true?

To deny the effects of human activity on the climate is foolhardy at best and criminal at worst. The whole basis of his presidency is to make rich Americans richer. The man is just a rich fool.

"The USA has many secret patents in secret technologies (estimated between 2000 and 5000)"

If they're THAT secret how do you know about them?

" Historically these secret patents have been released to the public at a rate of 0.5% per year by the US government for the past few decades"

So what previously 'secret' parents have been released lately?

"Think a lot of Republicans are wising up to Trump now.

"

.

The republicans have been forced into taking a more right wing stance since Reagan because the corporate democrats have actually stolen that slightly right of center traditional republican Reagan ground.

The only trouble was the electorate have now because of globalisation seen through the corporate politics of the USA and theyve bailed to that mythical non corporate man of the people trump!. hes now right right wing because that was the ground left by the democratic party, the whole world has been shifting right since the 70s , have a look back at thatchers policies, they were something straight out of new labour, same in the states, have a look back at Reagans policies, no different in reality than Obamas.

The center has now been abandoned and its left against right thanks to cronyism politics.

I dont think well get back to sensible politics till somebody does something BIG about corruption and tax avoidance

The world was shocked by events in 2016 - especially Trump being elected. He was different from anything we have known in recent times. He had help from "dubious " sources to get him elected. He may be a businessman, he certainly isn't a diplomat! His business was inherited - he's not self made. He is president only because of money. It's a sad state when you can "buy" a presidency? He's now exploiting every advertising gimmick known. Strange how all his meetings are at Trump owned establishments? What would global advertising of a resort cost? Talking of costs he ripped Obama's expenses to bits - 50 days into the job he has already beaten Obama's annual expenses. He has advisers who haven't got a clue in governance. Bannon his chief adviser is probably the most dangerous man in the world. But let's see how he performs and judge him on results. If he fails it will be someone else's fault. If he succeeds he will be the best, the very best jobs provider in the world. I always thought Pol Pott was he got all of Cambodia working in the fields - didn't he?

His spending, on himself, whilst decrying public spending is eyewatering. I really don't understand how his ardent supporters don't even bat an eyelid at this.

He is used to bankruptcy though so overspending is part and parcel of the man.

I read the costs to the NYPD to guard trump tower ($500,000 a day) and to the local police in Mar a lago ($60,000 a day) are absolutely crippling them.

Trump has spent $11.1 million in personal White House expenses in his first 60 days in office that is more than Obama spent annually.

Being he is the Pres and visits fart block and fart hols as and when the local police have to ensure their all secure at all times...

So the Donald now gets free permanent security patrols (including airspace), bomb sweeps, security vetting of visitors (permanent and temporary), contractors and employees. Sweet deal for the farter, not so much for the ordinary US taxpayers who voted him in to office.

Well I think he must be starting to lose his marbles now. He just managed to forget to actually sign the executive orders he was meant to be signing.

The man is a confidence trickster, he always has been, so you need to watch for the misdirection. Nothing is quite what it seems, the better the show the more you distract, the more you distract the more you can steal.

The man is a property mogul, his administration is packed with oil, coal, Investment bankers and hedge fund corporate bosses. Now considering his first acts have been to fund and force 2 oil pipelines through Indian land, withdraw federal support for renewable energy and undermine all climate change research. One has to ask what is he doing or going to do for the banks and hedge funds? How long does it take to manipulate financial markets and cause another global crash? And how much more property does the Donald intend to pick up at bargain prices when the banks start foreclosing again?

I think the USA does not have a great deal of time to remove Trump before he moves a very large part of the wealth of the population of the States into his and his mates pockets.
