No, I'm not going to watch. It will be the first one I've ever not watched. My willpower isn't strong enough to actually get through the inauguration this time. |

I don't know about American politics much, maybe the lovely Courtney will correct me if I'm wrong.
What kind of president will Trump be? As far as I understand it, the guy has so many advisors and analysts, that he will be whatever they tell him to be. He's the guy who receives the back slapping when it goes well, and is hung out to dry as a pariah by those advisors when it goes tits up. |

I hope he uses his business prowess to help the country to do well, but he does appear to be a racist and set in old ways, so hopefully he will do a good job! |

Tbh America has been involved in thirteen wars and spent trillion dollars in military, and it was without Trump being president. |

"As he didn't receive any money for his campaign, I am really curious to see how he will handle lobbies' request. "
That is incorrect. Trump self financed his primary run, but he didn't self finance his general election race.
Don't get me wrong, he did accept less donations than Hillary, but he certainly didn't self finance his campaign. |

Blokes a cunt, the US may deserve him, but the rest of the world doesn't. He's got in, funded by the oil and gas industry and now outright refuses to abide by any climate change agreements the rest of the world has agreed to. Let someone else deal with it in 40yrs time I believe one of his staff said.
As for the next four years? I think the situation in the Middle East is going to get much worse, far quicker than we all expect.
You have Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria, the catalyst for a Sunny/Shia civil war, internal unrest in all richer Gulf states, Yemen and not to forget that Israeli bubble and the oppressed Palestinians. Hezbollah, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Islamic State. Russia and China.
Then you have Africa, ripe for rebel rousing, climate change will lead to more drought, more famine and more migration /refugees.
The world is fucked. So I'm going all out and enjoying Fab whilst there's still a Fab left. |

Oh, and I've given a lot of thought to the idea of self finance in any case - I worry about a president who is beholden to no-one the same way I worry about a president who is beholden to big business. If you made enough money to self finance your campaign, chances are you personally owe people quite a bit - in the same way a political owes the big money that financed their campaign.
The best option would be someone like Bernie Sanders who didn't have enough money to self finance, but who also didn't accept large donations. He ran his campaign on small donations from the average person and THAT'S who the President should be beholden and answerable to - the average person. |

I didn't know that, thank you for clarifying that, wonder from who he got the money from ? I'll google it |

Oil and gas funded his rise to power. His environmental policy will prove it, watch this space. |

I had made the same decision... but then I spoke to my 94yr old nanna
We were talking about this and I said the same as you... she is more anti trump than me, be she said we may not like the man but respect the position and it only happens every four years...she said she got to see a black president which she said never would see and she was hoping to see a woman president
The fight back can start tomorrow, but today, just watch it be humble and don't let people goad you.... act like you have been there before
And she is right
I will watch it, I don't have to like it... I respect the position and not the man... and hopefully she will be around in 4 years to see here woman president |

guess I am the opposite, as I will watch this one to show my support, but I have never watched any previous
I may have seen snippets on the news but truth be told, cant remember, as they really mean nothing to me
This one may be different and I will tune in showing support and increasing viewing figures
I am sure everyone will agree, thumbs up for Trump
