As usual; completely meaningless waffle.

She has said nothing at all.

Apart from a bit of pleading for a few trade crumbs off the table.

And trying to lecture the world about economics st about 5th form level

"Companies must pay their tax" wow...revolutionary...I was saying that at 18 when I learnt about tax dodging. The average person on the street was saying this since and before 2008.

I love how when a politician sees it, its greeted as a revolutionary move.

P.s, the best way to tackle tax evation is to work as a block of nations...not retracting away and inward.

"Corporations need to shape up and pay their taxes, looking straight at them when she said it, well done"

Yeah how will she actually get corporations to shape up.

If she asks them to pay more tax - and they don't like it, its sadly in their interest to piss off elsewhere.

If she says you have to start training up young people as an investor in our country then they can say sod off and go elsewhere.

So. My point is, anyone can spout all that out. I could stand up and say that. But policies and detail are how that gets implimented.

A blueprint and speech is nothing to get excited about.

It's all just words.

Remember when she said she'd make companies have workers on their boards? And then dropped the idea.

She just recently made a speech about mental health that sounded great - but she's not going to provide any actual funding to help. Just words.

If the Tories do one single practical thing to crack down on tax evasion I'd be amazed.

Thanks. I really do not understand how awkwardly sat outside of the EU yet seemingly a member of no other union will help us tackle this issue.

Yes we can make our own rules with little compromise, but without atleast standardisation across a rough political block of similarly developed nations, its pointless. So unless the EU is going to let us in on decision making, which I dohbt, making tax evation rules stricter in brexit britain is arguably making us less attractive.

Not that i'm pro tax evation...but im just sayingpeople need to think rather than just listening to the bluster in speeches.

Yeah, because it was a border-line illegal idea. No thought at all. The board of directors have a legal responsibility to act in the interests of the shareholders. Not the workers. So putting a worker on the board would at best achieve nothing, at worst create a situation in which the shareholders could sue the board.

You are of course being sarcastic.

In two days the hag has made two speeches that directly contradict each other, one saying if the EU does not give her what she wants she will turn the UK into an off shore business tax haven to damage the EU and then a second to say that multinationals need to pay their fair share. And when Francois Hollande says that threats will not work and that if we (the UK) thinks they will we are about to find out exactly how bad it can get for us our foreign secretary has implied that the French president was acting like a WW2 Nazi prison guard meeting out a punishment beating!

If a fiction writer came up with this shit no one would believe it!

I cant understand how anyone would think that two speeches that basically threatened the two organisations that could destroy our country economically could be seen by any right thinking person as doing a good job for the UK. But then the German people did think that Hitler was doing a great job for Germany right up to the point that its cities were being bombed every night, and it did require the total defeat and destruction of Germany to get the Germans to admit that they got it wrong with the Nazis.

Maybe we need the same kind of kicking to face up to reality too.

Go back and read what I wrote. When you get to the word IMPLIED look up its meaning. Then listen to boris's words (here is a link to his comment):

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38658998

Now who else but a nazi prison guard would be handing out a punishment beating to someone who tried to escape in a WW2 film?

She has tried to undermine British democracy by trying to cut parliament out of the loop.

And if she could do it again, she would; she doesn't like to debate her point.

It's the way she always works.

Although,let's be honest,

Who will I vote for in the next GE?

Probably labour - I can see another tory government trying to run our social services the way America run their's...I'd rather not see the NHS get torn apart.

If brexit goes as may is currently pitching it and we get a GE before the next one is meant to happen - I might protest vote lib dem to piss all those off who don't like parliamentary democracy and prefer mob rule democracy - or those who seem to think people who voted remain should have to just 'shut up and get behind brexit'.

Or if labour opposes it I'll vote for them.

If it's all a clusterfuck of bad ideas I'll protest vote green or maybe just do innie meanie minie moe with my vote.

As long as I have been able to vote and the times that I was living in the UK when there was any kind of election I voted Conservative without ever once even feeling like trying something different. Totally Conservative through and through for almost 40 years.

Things changed late 2015 / early 2016 and I now could not see myself ever voting Conservative again. I absolutely could not and would not support Labour under any circumstances even for tactical reasons - just as a matter of principle. I would not vote for either Green tree huggers nor for the Conservatives on steroids known as UKIP.

I guess it only leaves the Lib Dems and considering that they appear to be the only party that is championing middle of the road liberalism and and an open and tolerant society - I guess they will be getting my vote.

Why should anyone be ashamed of their vote, when you are a citizen and of a certain age, a vote is your right and you can with it what you please.

We all have things we think should be prioritised. Some are more popular than others -or given higher priority.

My mum openly told me she protest voted UKIP in the last GE, but was then embarrassed by it when she saw what Paul Nutall had written about the NHS and read their manifesto calling it a 'heap of thatcher lite shit'.

She now has said that the current deliverance of brexit means she will most likely protest vote either lib dem or maybe labour - and she has said she is embarrassed about that.

I've told her not to be embarrassed, a protest vote is a protest vot, even if it's on a single issue, or interlinked issues it's valid. Why do you think the green party exists?
