As there are now no benefits perceived or real to leaving the EU should we not be protecting our sick and elderly by funding the NHS instead of setting off on an unnecessarily costly road to nowhere?
Set off on a pointless vanity journey that will indebt your children and your children's children to the point of poverty, or embrace your European cousins and fund the NHS instead.
Simple choice really. |

Waiter: "Would you like some cake? It is very delicious, and not very expensive, in fact we will even give you some money back"
Customer: "Oh, OK, that sounds pretty good thanks, I'll take some"
Waiter: "Great! That will be £100"
Customer: "But you said, it wasn't going to cost much? You said I might get some money back even?!"
Waiter: "No I didn't"
Customer: "Yes, you did! Look, see you even wrote it on the specials board over there"
Waiter: "Well, we didn't really mean it. Give me the £100"
Customer: "Well, I'm not sure I really want the cake now, not if it is going to cost £100"
Waiter: "Well everyone said it is great, so you must have it"
Customer: "But, I don't want it, that is a crazy price"
Waiter: "But it is good cake! And everyone wants is"
Customer: "I don't care if it is great cake or not, if I give you £100 for cake, I've got no money for my next meal"
Waiter: "Buy the cake. You said you wanted cake. Why are you changing your mind now?"
Customer: "You lied to me and told me it's not that expensive and I might get some money back"
Waiter: "So?"
Customer: "So... I don't want the cake now"
Waiter: "But you said you wanted the cake... buy the cake!"
Customer: "OK, OK... if I've got no choice in this... I'm going to have to take the cake aren't I?"
Waiter: "Yes, a bunch of other people have said they'll buy it, so you need to as well. It is very tasty cake"
Customer: "OK, OK... I give in, I'll buy the cake. So what flavour cake is it anyway?"
Waiter: "No idea. Good cake"
Customer: "Hold on, you said it was very tasty, but you don't even know what flavour it is!"
Waiter: "So what, it is good cake. You have to buy it"

We will all be richer and have a brighter future when we eventually get out of the EU.
It will be rough for a couple of years maybe but we will be better off.
If you want poverty go live in the EU and your kids will have no future as we won't hopefully let them back in here.
They will live in poverty and you will be wishing you had stayed in Great Britain.

That sounds very selfish. I would prefer that £250 billion was spent on our NHS and my kids continued a life of a stability, freedom and choices. You must have a heart of stone to choose to spend so much money exiting a stable society and send your family into an unknown future rather than help fund the NHS.  |

That sounds very selfish. I would prefer that £250 billion was spent on our NHS and my kids continued a life of a stability, freedom and choices. You must have a heart of stone to choose to spend so much money exiting a stable society and send your family into an unknown future rather than help fund the NHS. "
Maybe they think that a more stable and prosperous society is outside the EU? |

If you're going to make a point at least make a reasonable one with some semblance of logic behind it.
I bet you also think you'll get all the benefits of the common market with none of the obligations. Pure fantasy. |

Exactly and that is why we are better to abandon this nonsense and get back into bed with our European neighbours and cousins.
All we are seeing at the moment are costs to the country on leaving (exit settlement), costs to the economy by a shrinking economy (less migration = less workers = smaller economy) and now also a cost to still access the single market. Where will this money come from? More cuts to the NHS?
I don't see any savings there, only ever increasing costs in order to set off to a future less prosperous, less certain and very much less stable. Why not fund our NHS instead?

Surely if we pay more in than we get out we are on to a winner by leaving. People will still need to buy our goods and the EU is more dependent on us than were are on them.
The arguement that we need to be in the EU to sell our goods makes no sense to me .
We will have freedom to decide our own laws and will have control over our borders.
Everything that you have in life has to be worked for .
We have worked hard to leave the EU and will now reap the awards .
Some of the savings which we make on leaving the EU can be used on the NHS if that is what people want .
The NHS is a bottonless pit and throwing more money into it will not necessarily make it better .
If leaving the EU is good enough for highly successfull companies such as JCB Bamford , Dysons and Weatherspoons their vision is good enough for me .
These men did not build up successfull businnesses by being short sighted .
As the EU is more dependent on us then we are on them , we have nothing to lose .
With the right attitude , we will be able to negotiate at no cost a free trade agreement . This should be a walk in the park .
The only reason the EU is livid about us leaving is because the EU has more to lose than we have . If not they would not care . |

If Britain gets hit with a 17% import duty (which is standard on a lot of products) all of a sudden the cost to buy english products and services skyrockets. You'll either have to slash prices or be uncompetitive.
The likes of the financial service industry isnt going to stay in London to give up 17% of their income to the taxman, that would run into hundreds of millions. So they'll leave. Bye bye jobs. Bye bye taxable revenue. Bye bye all those suppliers who used to supply those companies.
And yes the EUs exports to Britain will suffer. But the EU will gain all those jobs and all that taxable revenue so they'll be in a better financial position in the end. |

Why would the UK be hit with 17 % export duty?.
With employment costs being much higher abroad I cannot see many finanial service companies wanting to move abroad .
In any event we can always lower our rate of Corporation Tax to attract EU businneses. |

Because 17% is the duty on a large range of products and services for items coming in to the EU.
Thats what the market is all about. British based companies can export to anywhere in the EU and not pay importy duty like the Americans/Asians/Africans /Aussies etc.
Once youre out of the EU import duties come into effect.
The financial companies are already meeting with lobbiests from other countries, the bulk of them are already gone but havent announced and havent decided where to but theyre going. They deal in BILLIONS every year. You would have to completely eliminate your corporation tax and somehow lower your wages to match the savings they'd get by moving to an EU city. |
