North West

How else could the convoy get from the White sea down to the Med? Should they have taken a totally unnecessary detour right around the UK and Ireland?

The journo's and news channels are making a meal out of nothing.

Afaik this was done through the proper channels, nothing even remotely to worry about. Except perhaps for IS in Syria, the Russians are already kicking their arses over there.

I think the Russians are more intent on bombing Syrian rebels, in reality they have used the excuse of IS to do the dirty work of Assad.

The only way to bring order back to that nation is to crush the rebels and IS, and leave Assad in charge.

We have tried removing these so called "tyrants" before, and it has only ever made things worse.

The US hasn't got the answer to the problems in that region. I think they should get the fuck out and leave it to Russia.

Absolutely....leave it to Russia to mass kill as many as Assad wants them to, what's a few hundred thousand civilians when the rewards are exclusive access to oil fields and new navy bases in the region?

It's nothing to worry about as such. It's not like there was sny chance they were going to suddenly take a pot shot at Dover, is it?

However this the first major deployment of an aircraft carrier by the Russians and could mark the start of a much interventionist Russia in the world. We've seen then interfering in the US election campaign and there still unanswered questions about their contributions to UKIP and the BREXIT campaign. What ever we think about what Russia is doing in the middle east we should keep in mind that Russia is no friend of the UK, Europe or the West and its interests often are not the same as ours.

I'm doing fine thank you, but thank you for your concern. No actually I couldn't give a toss what anyone thinks, I know I'm right.

The US have taken out Saddam Hussein and Colonel Gadaffi. What they left behind is a vacuum that has been filled by extremists. Yes they were tyrants, and they hated America. But they kept order, and ISIS would never have flourished in Iraq if Saddam was still in charge.

We live in a different world to them, trying to impose western so called "democracy" on them will never work. The dynamics are all wrong, to them religion is more important than politics.

The rise of IS is the fault of us sticking out noses in where it was not wanted, led of course by the USA.

We can't even afford to be at war overseas, we are up to our eyeballs in debt ffs!

Exactly this.. After iraq and libya being turned into failed states the usa learnt no lessons at all! Plus the hypocracy of the usa, killing endless civilians in drone strikes in numerous countries.
