The London School of Economics have said that they have been told that non-British academics are not allowed to advise ministers on Brexit. The government had commissioned research from LSE, but apparently only wants advice from Brits, not the worldwide pool of academics working there.
Is this a dangerous sign of things to come? It seems like further proof of what we were warned about by the likes if Stephen Hawking and the Royal Society about the negative impact of a leave vote on UK universities. |

Xenophobia is the fear of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange.[1][2] Xenophobia can manifest itself in many ways involving the relations and perceptions of an ingroup towards an outgroup, including a fear of losing identity, suspicion of its activities, aggression, and desire to eliminate its presence to secure a presumed purity.[3] Xenophobia can also be exhibited in the form of an "uncritical exaltation of another culture" in which a culture is ascribed "an unreal, stereotyped and exotic quality".[3]
The terms xenophobia and racism are sometimes confused and used interchangeably because people who share a national origin may also belong to the same race.[4] Due to this, xenophobia is usually distinguished by opposition to foreign culture.[4] |

So we should have advisors who could me from other interested EU contries to advise our government on which way we as a country sould go ? Surely anyone else from outside the country would have a vested interest in saying that the UK should go with a soft brexit and still pay money and accept free movement of all other EU people into the UK ?
Then there would be no point in leaving the EU in a be first place which is not what you was decsided in the vote |

So you don't think that they could be independent? Or that their expertise could be useful? |

The problem is that none of them will be 100% independent because they would have the best interests of thier own respective countries at heart.
