There's a funny Trump vs Trump debate on YouTube. Someone has made a video compilation of Trump's contradictions (not all of them - there's not enough space on You for that), and made it into a debate video.

There is no substance to either of them. How they'll lead a country when they can't restrain themselves, keep their interactions to the question given or look at all like a delegate has just got to be humiliating for the parties.

America has such an ugly choice to make right now. Clinton sounds deceitful, Trump sounds unstable.

Sadly these 'muppets' are vying for the most powerful political office on the planet.

The world will hold its breath in November.

I know nothing of her policies or track record but beside Trump she looks professional, mature, self-controlled and competent. And he had the nerve to suggest she is the one with the unsuitable temperament!!

Yes, well, I used to think it was the mark of a robust political system that it could cope with imbeciles and loonies at the helm (Bush II...)...

But Trump is a joke too far.

However, I don't have a vote and there's a *lot* of disenfranchised, bitter, angry US voters.

All Hillary has to do is NOT FUCK IT UP.

That's all.

* was thinking last night, considering that Trump has hijacked the Republican party/nomination you'd think, if there was actually an Illuminati, a New World Order or Bilderberg Conspiracy, that they would have bumped him off by now.

i'm sorry.... i didn't know we were actually allowed to talk politics in here.... wow!!!

hillary easily won that debate.... the problem is that the bar was set so low for trump.. and then those were lowered even further by the trump campaign itself, that for trump to claim victory all he had to do is stay upright and not make a dick joke!

those people are going to say trump won by default.....

The politics fora are like a primary school playground for some strange reason.

That's why they're better off down there imo.

I think there is going to be a record low turn out and Trump will win because the large community of poor white people who don't normally vote, will vote for Trump this time

But I would rather Hillary won. The lesser of two evils.

What are trying to say? The poor white people concerns are not real or they shouldn't have a vote?

Without preempting what your thoughts were I find what you're written as very condescending. Our political parties had a similar thought process about Brexit, the "great unwashed" didn't understand our message rather than they made their own minds up.

Nope. It's just that historicly the poor white people haven't voted in American elections but this time Trump has gone out of his way to appeal to them and unsurprisingly they have responded. The usual political establishment usually ignore them.

It's quite logical that politicians would ignore non-voters really.

Anybody know when it was that the then moderate Republican party changed to the hardline party they had become by the 1950s? I assume that it was about the same time that the Democrats changed their role too? Don't know enough about American political history really.

Dunno, didn't think either party had ever been hardline though. Thought they were both just either side of centre, thats why they change every 4 or 8 years
