I do agree, what a lot of the protesters are missing out is that if Byron burger had not acted then they would have been in breech of the rules and then liable to large fines per person employed.

But since when does rent a mob bother about those kind of details

Isn't it a case of Byron not doing proper checks when they employed people, then when immigration found out they said they would fine them unless they lured their staff to "training" so that immigration could detain them?

Wouldn't the decent thing to do be to check their immigration status before hiring them? Rather than have them as employees for years, and then throw them under a bus?

They did the checks but the illegals gave them forged documents.

It's nothing more or less than a uk citizen would have done to them in another country and in some cases they would be put in prison for a time and then deported.

In this country they will probably be placed in an immigration detention centre and then deported.

Which is still a luxury resort in comparison to most Asian, African or South American facilities.

Byron did the right thing. Not only did the workers lie about their immigration status but they used falsified documents too. In many other countries that would have landed them a jail term in addition to deportation.

No, they're more likely to be told to report to their local police station every two weeks, let go, and never be seen again.

No, as you can read below 25 out of the 35 arrested have already been deported, some within hours of their arrest.

Well if they were fab forum readers I'm sure they are thanking their lucky stars that they were arrested and deported rather than being fed to sharks as recommended by some forumites.

Because luckily law and order in this country is not decided by the Fab forum!

It seems odd to blame the company rather than the employees.

Even if Byron shouldered some of the blame for failing to check their immigration status (which has not been established), I can't see how they could have handled the affair any differently. If they had notified the employees in a letter, I doubt many of the employees would have stuck around for a chat with the immigration authority.

This was a home office/imagration office opperation I doupt that Byron burger had any real choice but to comply with them.

It was either that or get a hefty fine and who here would take the option of the fine then?

These raids happen all of the time in the kitchens of takaways in London and big citys It's just that this time some protestors thinks it's a good idea to release cockroaches into the resturant and.

It's a point of imagration law end of story Byron had no other options.

Were the burgers made by illegal immigrants or from them?

No buses were harmed when this deal was completed

They are here illegally, it's simple catch them put them on the next flight home and fuck them off!...

I really can't see what all of the fuss is about.

If I get caught doing things I shouldn't I expect to pay a price for it
