Puppies aside.
I'm not too sure if you are aware of this but you skipped an election. The referendum was part of the manifesto for the Tories on the last one which they won with an outright majority.
Even ignoring this labour and the lib dems couldn't form a coalition following the election prior to the last one because it still wouldn't have given them a majority.

Economy in a mess,mass unemployment.maybe high inflation,falling standards in school,the NHS in a bigger mess than now.

2010 results Tories=307 seats Labour = 258 seats.lib\dems =57 seats you need to research before you give it the old I know it all bullshit,proves Nick Glegg could have chosen labour over the Tories,things would have panned out a lot diffrent |
