Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I saw Ken Loach on a panel last night. He was frothing at how Corbyn has been treated by his party.
It does amuse me that we have the potential to have Corbyn and Gove opposite each other at PMQs both in the same position that those behind them want to stab them and their grass roots members want them to stay in post.
I can't remember politics ever being like this. |

Brown and Blair?"
That wasn't the same at all. That was an agreed handover, Cameron was opposite and supported by his party.

"He's got his stern face on Andrew Marr this morning.
He's stated he voted to remain and says he can get the number of votes to fight.
Not mine!"
Are you outting yourself as a Labour MP? |

hmm, may have to stand soon!
i find it funny that Corbyn thinks the people who have become members in the past few months want to keep him!
on the joining form their is a nice little box where they ask you why you want to join the Labour Party - my answer was 'to get rid of Corbyn'.
this is not the party that i have supported (on & off) since the early 80s. Corbyn & Momentum is just a protest movement, they are as bad as the Brexit team in that they do not have any credible plan to solve anything. they just point out that things are wrong - man up Corbyn and go. |

I think if there is a challenge then the vote might not be as conclusive as he hopes. The point is that he needs MPs to back him to even challenge and if he doesn't get that then the party will completely fracture. It's not yet a year since the membership elected him.

Absolutely same thought I had. Reasonable man, tries to do the right thing but you can't lead a political party if all you have is the skill to point out things that are wrong. Theres no focus on the 'what' or 'how' of policies, just fluffy words designed to make you feel better but not actually help people. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and voted for him last year, I regret it and never again. |

That is up for debate. The Labour Party's rule on challenging the leader is drafted very badly. It is ambiguous with the first part of the clause referring to challengers and the second referring to nominations. |

It's one of the reasons that Corbyn and Momentum have been desperately trying to wrestle control of the NEC, and why others are acting prior to forthcoming NEC elections when they almost certainly will gain it. The NEC interpret the rules, and my guess is that Eagle and others have been reassured that Corbyn won't be able to stand. |

"They fear him as he is the only alternative"
The only people that fear Corbyn are the Labour party supporters and members who would like to see the Labour party in power again.
All the other parties love him!

Corbyn, lovely guy, honest principled, full of conscience and empathy, huge mandate to lead the Party from the 300k 3 quid membership. Totally incapable of convincing the 25 million 'man in the street' voters of endorsing either him or Labour, incapable of seeing past the end of his nose. |
