I was chatting about it in another thread and it is an interesting option, do you think they should do one like scotland, as london are a world capital? as so much depend on it.

Freedom is alive in well. We only lose our freedom when a minority think they should have more say and control the majority. Hang on, you may have a point.

Shag, I do like you but honestly....

I would say as a Swedish national you should really keep your thinking's to yourself when thinking about suggesting UK civil war!.

Let's get one thing straight, nobody is getting out of something they dislike from a democratic vote, all this talk of Scottish, Irish and London independence is bollocks of the highest order

What do you mean by London? The City? The City plus Westminster? Or you really want to cherry pick and have The City, Westminster and Canary Wharf? Will you want to exclude the poorer bits like Tower Hamlets, Tottenham and, oh yes Penge?

Or do you bring it out to the M25?

Either way, a problem crops up. The EU refuses to allow freedom of movement without membership. An awful lot of people travel into London everyday. Anyone who has sat at the Blackwall Tunnel, Staples Corner or Hangar Lane can tell you that.

So passports and visas? You might find the brightest and best don't want to go through that everyday. You might find your police force under staffed or hospitals not functioning.

I grew up in London. Apart from when in the army, I have always worked in London and as a city I love London. But I don't want to live there anymore.

In the last 30 years this country has become more London centric. It's about time the UK didn't all revolve around London. If the wealth and jobs had been more evenly distributed, the referendum may have gone a different way.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Passport to Pimlico - nothing more British than that.

Shag, Baron Maurice Glasman has been arguing for London to have independence for many years. He usually compromises by stopping short of full independence and just having full economic independence.
