"I disagree, but he does realise he is not PM material, perhaps he is thinking of our country"
Before himself? I think everyone who has ever met him says that Boris only thinks of one person and that person is Boris. |

What a time wasting twat. Probably knew he would lose the race or that he'll get a better bit of the cherry at the next election. I didn't hear any real weight in that speech at all, all I heard was London,, London, London, London. |

Boris knows he can't be ignored In the cabinet. He is a very clever man who knowns he has grass roots support but the mp obstacle is to much of a risk to take. That's political manovering for you.. home secretary... that's my bet |

I don't think his racist comments about Obama's Kenyan heritage would make him a good fit for the foreign office. |

That is a surprise. But, he could never have led the negotiations - he's on record too much for essentially remaining part of the EU.
Gove standing will be interesting.
I'd like to see May with Eagle as her opposite number for Labour. |

"Even Boris's dad disagreed with him over the EU "
Boris's Dad was recently on The Last Leg comedy show, when asked what he though about Farage he replied 'he thought he was a very good man'. It was shocking as the previous question was on Farage's campaign poster and it being aligned to Nazi propaganda. Even the comedians were taken aback, as they realised they were sat on the same couch with an out and out racist. I think the comment was 'now we know where he (Boris) gets it from'. |

He has grass root support and the conservitives need to grow that. Boris is the man to do it. He won a very labour London over twice. That speaks volumes |

The sad thing is that we are left with is the speculation about the "if's" and "what could have been", the "possibilities of him in office", and the possibilities of him going through with whatever it was he was going to do policy wise.
He is a puppeteer and a manipulator outing a PM needlessly and has ultimately caused the country a grave rift, at a time when we were in a period of recovery from two recessions. I hope he will be forever remembered for this.
He's probably best suited in his reporters job but I'm glad he doesn't have the support of his peers and he should be kept out of politics. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

"The Grand Dragons (Murdoch/Dacre) have spoken. Boris wasn't acceptable for them - the reasons why must be incredibly interesting."
I do wonder how much this is really about the fact he would be under pressure to give up his other, much lucrative, work?
City Hall was a mess until a decent chief executive was found to keep things in line.
He has managed to make it all about him and totally steal the thunder from everyone else standing. Very BoJo. |

"And Brexiters get taught another important lesson in how politics really works.
At least Theresa May, as horrible as she is, won't be treating the future of the country as a game."
Did you not listern to her speech this morning |
