"I can understand americans protesting there president but why would the rest of the world protest him he aint there president" Maybe because his policies may affect them, maybe they don't agree with his morals, they could have a whole host of reasons...
So you can only criticise someone from your own country then?

Looking at the numerous and varied responses on a recent thread about being 'woke" would lead me to the conclusion that it is simply a derogative term that is used to offend someone.
If that person has different views to another, it seems to be applied very rapidly.
Perhaps correctly but then, the meaning of the word itself is too vague and appears to cover too many different things.
According to Wikipedia...
Woke is an adjective derived from African-American English used since the 1930s or earlier to refer to awareness of racial prejudice and discrimination, often in the construction stay woke.
The term acquired political connotations by the 1970s and gained further popularity in the 2010s with the hashtag #staywoke.
Over time, woke came to be used to refer to a broader awareness of social inequalities such as sexism and denial of LGBTQ rights.
Woke has also been used as shorthand for some ideas of the American Left involving identity politics and social justice, such as white privilege and reparations in the United States.

To be honest, I am none the wiser.
So back to my post.
Démonstrations against right wing Trump, his tarrifs, his attacks on the LGBT movement, his approach to sacking people who don't support him and his denial of any crimes committed by himself or his supporters yet, those same crimes or similar committed by people who criticise him are punishable etc. etc. would not necessarily be considered woke.
On the other hand, those who support Trump and all he is doing would perhaps think otherwise.
Who knows..

"This is also happening in London, Paris, Brussels and probably elsewhere.
Are those demonstrating woke and if not, why not?"
A simple and prime example of TDS, I know it's wrong to laugh at people with TDS, but I can't help myself. |

Whilst anyone is free to demonstrate against people and actions from another country, I don’t think it generally achieves that much. I appreciate the fact that I am in a country where individuals can do this if they wish though. |

The support Palestine marches were widely publicised and labelled "hate" marches by Suella Baverman. Eventually cost her her job which was a very good thing.
Over 1 million people demonstrated against the Iraq invasion, including me. We were right, Blair, Gove and the Tories agitating for an illegal war were wrong.
Trump's state visit, if it happens, may be limited to Scotland because a couple of million of us will want to wish him well in London not.
Politicians in power only care about two things: being voted out and civil unrest. Do not underestimate the power of the people.

What have the Palestine marches achieved with regard to the ongoing situation in that region of the world, that’s right, nothing.
Did the marches in protest of the Iraq invasion prevent the Iraq invasion, no, they didn’t. |

You just had a 10% tax slapped on your exports…. I think people should protest outside the US embassy if they feel that strongly… I see nothing wrong with that! |

"Woke is connected to isms. I do not believe we have a tradism"
Woke is all about being aware of injustice, and having a 10% tariff imposed on us for no reason is unjust.
Still no point in protesting though. Our politicians can't do anything about it, and Trump doesn't care what we think. |

I would say injustice regarding the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010. Otherwise we'll be using woke when we're too lazy to think of a more apt word. |

There is a reason, the Americans believe it will help protect their home markets from foreign goods and thus support home industry. Whether that will happen remains to be seen, just because the reason doesn’t suit you in this country doesn’t mean there isn’t a reason. |

If we believe Trump is a narcissist then he cares very much what we think. Unfortunately his response will be playing the victim and persecutor roles. Watch him switch seamlessly between the two as he rages on against his enemies, escalating the situation. He will demand that our representatives punish protestors to show allegiance to him, with the threat of greater tariffs or funding cuts to US states. He is very predictable. |

"I do feel a lot of people are driven by the emotiveness Trump creates through the media fanfare rather than facts.
"
You mean the fact he's crashing the worlds finances and thus made the average person poorer? |

I thought you would be aware that market fluctuations don’t automatically lead to short term impact on the average person. Are you seeing something different?
