I suppose the counter argument over Greenland is what if Russia grab it? Greenland are in no position to resist nor their protectors, Denmark. So then we have a war with Putin, followed by territorial concessions - like Ukraine. Result : Russia controls the Artic. |

US should offer each citizen £1m cash (or whatever their price is) plus full US citizenship. Put it to a referendum.
Then accept the result and shut up.

US citizenship is a worthless piece of paper since january, so not much of an incentive there |

The ironic thing is that the base in Greenland was bigger, and had more us service people there and it was the US that scaled that back…
Before this “ownership” issue both Greenland and Denmark were not opposed to more troops being deployed there… it’s the whole annexation thing!

If the USA follows true to form they will occupy Greenland by force, steadily kill off the vast majority of the indigenous population before banishing them to a useless bit of land or reservation to live on.
Then after a decade or so they will declare that the country has always belonged to the white Christian gun bearing Republicans and impose tariffs on anyone trading with it.
One good point is, a Global warming makes its inexorable way across the World, Greenland will be one of the last habital places on Earth. |
