BRUSSELS, March 26 (Reuters) - Europe should enhance stockpiling of critical equipment and encourage the public to maintain sufficient supplies for at least 72 hours in case of emergencies, the European Commission said on Wednesday.

The Commission said in its new EU Preparedness Union Strategy that the bloc was preparing for risks including natural disasters, cyber attacks and geopolitical crises, including the possibility of armed aggression against EU countries.

What happens after the 72 hours?

Is that how long it will take the EU to surrender?

I assume there is some Strategic Recovery Action Plan that will deftly spring in to action.

.

- National group of some folks does food supplies

- National group of someone else does energy repair

- National group of someone else gets the water back on

- Coordinated efforts to provide acute care, etc.

.

Essentially, I think they are saying after 72 hrs, it's back to normal.

.

Whether that is realistic or not is another matter. But I suppose if Ukraine's energy infrastructure keeps getting damaged and repaired in short order, there's no reason why we should not anticipate the same.

That's twice you've mentioned "surrender". Is that something you would like to happen then ?

72 hours?Goodness knows how anyone will cope. That's 3 full days with no shops open. Most of UK can't cope with shops shutting for 2 days at Christmas.....

But then they will need to have meetings and more meetings, maybe some legal challenges and at some point start the voting process.
